My smart meter battle

They sent me a letter to say that they are coming to put a smart meter on at my place.


I have put signs up and sent letters saying no you are not.

I have no trespass sign up and also a no trespass sign specifically for any smart meter installer.

One sign says they can be fined 167,000$ if they do it.

They cannot shut off your power if you have paid your bills ect and there is a major process to go through if they do try this.


The power company is only allowed onto your property to read the meter and no other reason.

Am looking forward to the fight ,thats if they come through the front gate ignoring my signs.

I am glad to know you Serpo I remember you talking about this a while back and wondered what would become of it. Here in the US it would take thousands of dollars to take it to court, and it would be dismissed at your cost. I hope you have some luck and keep this thread updated!

They can come into your property to cut the branches of the trees touching the wires and to read the metter, that's it.

60000 of us in BC refused smart meters. After all the threats the gov't accepted the fact that many people were against them and they will continue to read our meters as per before.

Still holding out. I know of others too. Been sent letters trying to explain away my concerns.

Talked to the HNIC of the smart meter program. Told him it goes against my religious beliefs.

I think they still employ a gerbil and wheel in my meter so far.
