Worth a share for folks who may not realize just how bad Detroit is.

I recognize every area he was driving in. Not sure when this video was made but there are a lot less houses and buildings as of last year.

Have you thought about buying up any of those $1 houses? My idea was to get a bunch of like minded folks and buy up several blocks, and rebuild the neighborhood. Seems to me like a good project.

He makes a great point, and I've never really thought about it that way. Thanks for sharing.

Some people should be thrashed for thinking they know how to use a camera.

that's exactly what i was thinking.
one of the big issues is security, and i wouldn't be doing it as a charitable project either.
i was wondering about the money-make-ability of the project.
in the beginning of the project, it might be necessary to offer free rent to somebody reliable to brave the elements and to help with security.
also i wonder about putting a gun on a Roomba. :)

The land in Detroit is very much compromised. Most of it was basic swampland and the car companies made a deal that they would fill the swamp areas with automotive sludge, very very toxic shit. I always thought it was folklore.
I was working on a project and after digging down 6 feet for a rat wall for a construction project I found bottle caps, broken glass and all kinds of stuff that was buried before the sludge rolled in. Every day the workers would be sick, headaches, bloody noses. This dirt didn't even stink! Very dense like a hard clay, almost impossible to hand dig so we had to get machines to dredge through it.
Another thing I noticed was the chemtrails as we approached the city, denser and denser until it was completely covered at the center of the city. This was a continuous thing all summer long. People were very sickly down there, all types of health problems in every area of the city.
I don't think I would want to eat anything that was grown there unless it was filled over with at least 3-4 feet of good safe dirt.
I should dig out a few pics of the drive into the city...

I would imagine the problem with buying into that place would be the politics, assessments, mandatory insurance or whatever the city will try to extract from the homeowners. I'm not sure about gun control but I sure wouldn't want to be tried by a jury of my "peers" (peeps) if I was on trial for defending myself in my own home with a gun against a 900lb gorilla

Should "Detroit" and "good" be used in the same sentence?

Like Uncle Salty, I was born and also raised in Detroit. I've brought this up in other threads, but I'll do it again....
The status of a nation/city/neighbourhood is directly related to the race of the inhabitants. In the middle of Detroit is two other cities -- Hamtramck and Highland Park. One is mostly white [until recently, there's lots of Paki's and Arabs there now] and the other is mostly black. The white city is a decent place to live and HP is a shit-hole just like Detroit.
Detroit = Jamaica = Haiti = Uganda = Gary, Ind. = Sierra Leone = any nigger infested community
This is something the video maker didn't bring up

Save your bullets. Dogs need to eat, just like worms and buzzards.
