According to the YouTube uploader, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVUE13KUzLQ) the dog had to be rescued by the person holding the camera.

They normally run away but the dogs probably chased this one into the water and so it was standing its ground ,to good effect........

I think you're right, the dogs are the bad guys here, there was a vid on YT I was trying to find, this huge Pit-Bull was trying to get to a mother lions cubs, I was interested to see how it turned out, hope the mom lion was able to defend her babies

yes don't mess with the roos. Very stong and while cute looking they get pissed easily. Basically kangaroos are grumpy bastards. I coped it once from a grey (smaller) and I was pretty lucky, was two hind feet to the chest. No real damage. I was some other place where they had an old red (larger) who seemed to be content laying in the sand. Well he didn't like me for some reason and got up, but the grey had already taught me what to do...... which was run. which I did.

So like bears in the US, we have greys - black bear and reds - grizzly bear.

Don't listen to this aussie imposter, large wild kangeroos can be extremely dangerous.

The idea of the boxing kangeroo comes from the phenomena whereby a kangeroo leans back on its tail when fighting other roos. They will also fight humans. In the earlier part of the 20th century this was a past time. The kangeroos strategy is to draw you in, when they've done that they will disembowl a man in quick time with the powerfull claws on their arms. Not a pretty sight.

There is a REAL fight scene in this movie FWIW, if you can stomach it, its like the Aussie version of Deliverance. It was called 'Wake In Fright' here, but in the US it was called 'Outback'

That was a good film, thanks for the recommendation. Almost felt like I was on some outback adventure, watching that. The kangaroo hunt was a little disturbing. Almost seems like we are the kangaroo, and TPTB the hunters...

Anyway, cheers.
