Never been to this auction myself even though it is fairly local. Come on down for the BBQ Sept 12th and mingle with all the BATFE agents. Bring lots of money because these are mostly collector pieces that don't go cheap.

The catalog can be found here

Interesting that they have a couple of smooth bore pistols in 410 listed in the class III category alongside machine guns.

It's in Illinois Why yes it is!!

If I can't CCW in your state, I'm not fucking going there. Certainly I am not in Illinois but as to your argument ... I think they will ship to a FFL anywhere. I have no idea how much of a stickler they are concerning transporting your own private property out of the state. Lots of their stuff is pre 1899 so just grab it and go.

You can walk into Cabelas pay cash and walk out with a black powder 'replica' that is just as lethal as the original. Pre-1899 is deemed 'never to have been entered into commerce'. Seems commerce started with the 20th century.

Been there....its a 25 minute city drive through Davenport and over the Mississippi into Illinois.

A friend of mine packs the guns once auctioned off and they aren't allowed to speak to anyone when they are in the back working.......its kind of creepy he says, but very professional!

A few years back there was a gun collector in Bellevue Iowa who was killed by a transient pair from Wisconsin. They tried to fence the weapons thru this auction service. This outfit puts out a really high quality catalog and the son (from Colorado), who had been trying to locate his father, recognized some of the arms from the catalog. They caught the pair and the last I heard they were in prison. The sad part is that the fathers head turned up a while after his disappearance .... in Missouri ... encased in concrete in a 5 gallon bucket that had been abandoned at a truck stop for a while.

Ought to be a warning to all collectors of old arms.
