Here is the calculation in case you wish to double check : The atomic mass of fluorine is approximately 19, so one mole of fluoride ions has a mass of 19 g. 1 L of water with a fluoride concentration of 1 ppm has 1 mg of fluoride. So to get the number of fluoride ions (ie atoms) in 1 L of water with a fluoride concentration of 1 ppm, divide Avogadro's number by 19,000. Therefore 6.0225 × 10^23 ÷ 19,000 = 3.169736842×10¹⁹ = 31697368420000000000 fluoride atoms in 1 litre of water @ 1ppm
