This bridge is in Eugene, OR, near the Valley River Center mall. I should know, I grew up there. The bridge is a bicycle/pedestrian bridge that was constructed with "stimulus" money from the 2008/9 Great Recession. Eugene is a very liberal town and home to the University of Oregon.
