It is pretty funny- that "China Syndrome" clip. Theorietically, the genius says, the core would melt down to the bottom of the earth- to China. LOL... and that is because gravity works differently in China... at the bottom of the earth.


Either they cool the reactors with sea water, or the reactors melt into the center of the earth causing a major nuclear explosion the likes of which has never been seen.


And this quote is another beaute. As the radioactive core melts through and into sub strata, it becomes more contaminated and less pure. Any reaction becomes diminished by the spread of the material. It would not tunnel into the center of the earth and there decide to blast. If it is going to blast, it will happen when the concentrations (purity) is highest.
