About 19 years ago we caught halibut in that same area off of Homer, AK. We caught mostly small ones, 30 lbs or so, but that was the best tasting fish I've ever had. Still remember it to this day.

I would have kept that fish too, and cooked up those steaks for the whole town.

Almost forgot, when we came in and tied up to the dock. There was a crowd gathering around a massive catch. Don't know how big that halibut was, but he was over 8 feet long. The fish there can get massive.

My guess $3,000 @ $22 a pound

That's the area they claim is full.
