While I have no love for union people, this is outright disgusting. The fuckers stole wedding rings. BTW it's close to Oakland I wonder how Pete thinks about his pets.

ABC News' Daniel Rapaport reports:
Firefighters from Station No. 7 in Walnut Creek, Calif., received a less-than-grateful welcome home Monday, when they discovered their station had been broken into and many of their belongings taken while they were out fighting the Morgan Fire near Mount Diablo.
"The firefighters came back to the station to settle down, get some rest after a full day on duty," Steve Aubert, a spokesman for the Costa County Fire Prevention District, told ABCNews.com.
Two wedding rings, watches, cash and more were taken while the crew protected more than 100 structures from the fire, which had grown to 3,700 acres and was 60 percent contained today, Aubert said.
No arrests had been made and police were still on the hunt for the suspects, Aubert said today.
A call to Contra Costa County Police was not returned.
Aubert has received numerous calls from nearby citizens lending their support and condolences and even offering to reimburse the firefighters, he said. He added that a jeweler reached out to him and offered to replace the wedding rings that were stolen and a local woman offered to replace the stolen iPad with a brand new one .
"The public outreach to these guys, who were helping people when they were robbed of their stuff, has been humbling," Aubert said. "We're very appreciative."
No.7 wasn't the only station that was targeted in Northern California recently. Aubert said burglars also appeared to target station No.3 , but the break-in attempt was thwarted when a noise woke the firefighters and the apparent burglars fled.
Aubert said nearby stations were reviewing their security protocols and considering additional measures, including on-duty guards and gates with codes, to prevent future break-ins.

That city is 85% white and voted in the top 10 cities to retire in last year. Maybe it was an inside job?

If you MAP Walnut Creek, Calif you'll see how close it is to Oakland. I'm NOT saying that it's definitely a Leroy but all things point to it.

General, there's a whole hillside/mountain between Oakland and Walnut creek. The turds stay in the flat lands. Which is why in the Oakland hills you have million dollar homes and little crime.
Walnut creek is a nice area, not even close to Oakland. You have to pass through the Oakland hills (million dollar homes). Then the small town of Orinda (million dollar homes), then you are into Walnut Creek.
There's no way of knowing what race these turds who did this.
BTW, I don't live in Oakland anymore and resent that comment of yours. Where is the smite button when you need it....

I got the stereo stolen out of my car once. Nobody offered any assistance in replacing it. Maybe I should have purchased airtime on the local radio station to let folks know about my loss.
People certainly do worship their government workers.

People appreciate firefighters, because they come to help save their homes. Sorry to hear about the loss of your car stereo, but these guys lost their wedding rings. I agree it's over-hyped, but still people want to believe and have heros, and that's the way they view firemen. It's kinda like how people want to believe, or would rather believe, the BS that .gov and the media pitches.
Having been on the fire dept. it always made me chuckle how folks would love to come to the station and see the engines, and such. I enjoyed that, but I'd never tell them that I enjoyed fighting fire. It got my adrenaline going, I loved it. We hoped for fires to come along, just so we could fight them. The public doesn't want to know that! You've got to be a little nuts to enjoy that, so they think it's something we had to do, risk ourselves to for their benefit. Nope. Just wanted to fight fire.

actually i think that's one of the reasons i like composting.
there's a pyromaniac quality to it.
if you do it right, you mix water, manure, ground up yard waste, and maybe some chicken feathers together, and it heats up, to about 160 degrees.
it's difficult to get it right.
i didn't understand the news about the firefighters being robbed. did they leave the firehouse un-locked ?

Most likely unlocked, they usually leave in a hurry. I bet the turds saw them leave, then went right on in to loot and steal.
You wouldn't believe what some assholes do. Firehouses seem to be a magnet for lowlifes. We once found a strange package labeled anthrax on it, right near our front door. One guy had someone commit suicide in front of him, right in front of the firehouse. Saw it happen.

I was just about to say something similar.
FF are just as dangerous as police nowadays and even more dangerous for the simple fact you cant lock your door and turn of the lights and be done with them.
They can legally break down your door if they suspect a "emergency" and from their the bacon boys can take over with the legal cover ( not that they need it )
Also when in your residence for Safety inspections they are encourage to report any suspicious activites to local law enforcement.
I treat them as hostiles.
For my safety of course.

People appreciate brewers too! I think most of us around here appreciate beer brewers more then firemen.
I've had a lot more experience with beer then I have with firemen.

I'd like to help brew out with his stolen stereo...I have an old 8-track player in perfect working condition I'll donate.
Thanks to all the brewers out there for quenching our thirst and making women look better!

Brewers make the world a better place. They bring happiness, joy, good cheers with them when they show up. Firemen just show up when everyone's having a bad day. When the brew shows up, even a bad day miraculously becomes a good day!

EE, God made beer because he loves us and wants us to be happy.
Therefore, beer brewers are really, from a religious standpoint, folks who take God's gift of brew and spread joy throughout mankind.

I left both depts. I wasn't let go. I've never been fired from any job.
The fire dept because I moved, out of state. Police, because it wasn't working for me. Wasn't good at it.
Hope that settles your curiosity.
