Check out the above video to see Steve Hornady, president of Hornady ammunition give a statement on the current status of the ammo industry and the ammo shortage.
Not what you expected?
As we’ve said all along, and as Steve reinforced, the ammo shortage is being caused by us, the shooting community.
Panic buying and ammo stockpiling is leading to a shortage of ammo.
Let’s be honest, how many people used to buy just enough ammo for a range day?

Now, how many people in the last year have bought any amount of ammo simply because you saw it was in stock and you were afraid it wouldn’t be when you needed it?
Now, back to Hornady’s statements. He also mentions that production times and shifts have been increasd.
Production of popular rounds has also increased while production of less popular, or highly specialized rounds has decreased to allow for an increase in the production of those popular rounds.
Personally, I’m seeing much more availability in the Southeast over the last 2-3 months and I hope that trend continues.

Best to err to the side of caution.

Better we to cause a shortage then them.

If his statements are to be belived.
