Im not sure if this was some sort of collectivist propaganda or just an intellectually dishonest and lazy attempt at making collectivism seem 'smarter'.

How about this: IT WAS A FUCKING RACE. Two 'competitors' are NEVER going to 'team up' to finish the competition. I cant believe i even had to type that. What a fucking idiotic premise.....But perfect for mashing childrens common sense into a brainwashed matrix of collectivist garbage.

I mean, what if the race were in the air? Would the rabbit and turtle be able to 'team up' and win the flying race?

Dude, I gotta tell you... I have learned SO MUCH from your posts and many of them have actually changed my core philosophies, and clafied my thinking about the world around me.

However, I'm going to have to call you on this one.

While I appreciate your sensitivity to anything collectivist (I've adapted my own perceptions accordingly, and thought the same thing about this video at first), I must say that in real life problem solving, this philosophy can come in very handy, IF and only IF the people involved are of a certain competent, individualist mindset to begin with. I don't see the problem with talented specialists getting together to leverage their abilities to solve a problem, or produce something of value.

For instance, if I know a particular brewer is well versed in a certain style of beer, and I have produced stellar versions of another, why would I not want to work with him to produce and original hybrid style if both of us had the same goal?

The term we use here in San Diego is "collaboration".

It works well.

(Thanks for the compliment!)

I totally agree with you, only if the each individual person has the choice in the matter.

BUT, this was a race! There is no scenario in reality where two people competing for something are going to 'team up' and 'win' together. This is the same crap going on in schools with the 'no score keeping' idiots and the 'everyone gets first place' morons.

When you start an idea with a false premise (two people 'joining together' to 'compete'?) you can use as much rationality and logic as you want, but you will ALWAYS come out with a false and deceiving outcome.
