I conceal carry at Walmart, but haven't open carried yet. I haven't heard of anyone having any issue like that with open carry in Idaho. All the police I've dealt with here have been pro-2nd amendment. 1 in 10 adults conceal carry here according to a cop I talk to. He said he wished it was 9 in 10.
By the way, notice the GTA5 advertisement in the background...
The game where you get to murder and torture innocent people for the FBI:

This is some shocking shit. Amazing something like this is advertised willy-nilly at Walmart.

i had a state trooper get in my face about 7 years ago for more id when i gave him a passport. i said, "what, the signature of the secretary of state isn't good enough for you, you want me to get a note from george w for you?" he was not amused by sent me along.

Very few people (like near zero) comprehend what the passport fundamentally represents.

I open carry all the time. I get all kinds of funky looks when I am clothes shopping in the ladies department. I have not got kicked out of a store yet, and I have gone into Wally World and Costco. There is one gun store here that wont let you open carry in the store.... Is that an oxymoron , the owner of the store is a Richard Cranium.
I think in that video, the girls did not legally have to show ID. Not sure I would have....

Well yeah, there's that too. Personally I'm the type who likes to blend in as much as possible. Keep a low profile. I won't have bumper stickers, tattoos, piercings, funky hair, clothing with logos, and so on.

I'd say they'd probably had to show ID because of the fact they were open carrying, and the cop could say there was "reasonable suspicion", I don't think I would've answered all his questions though, it's immateral if "are all you related?" or "where did you live before moving to OK? or "where are you going now?" none of that matters and you have the Right NOT to answer, remember the police can ask you anything, that doesn't mean you have to answer every question and don't forget the police can legally lie to you, but never ever lie to them, you have the right not to incriminate yourself
Generally Speaking though.....
Many states now have "stop and identify" laws which requires that a person identify themselves to police when the police have reasonable suspicion that the person has engaged or is about to engage in criminal activity. Under the law, if the person refuses to show identification under these circumstances, they can be arrested.
Determining If You Are Under Reasonable SuspicionHow will you know if the police are asking you for ID because you are under "reasonable suspicion?" Politely ask the officer if they are detaining you or if you are free to go. If you are free to go and you do not want to divulge your identity walk away. But if you are detained you will then be required by law (in most states) to identify yourself or risk arrest, also there is No law that mandates you MUST carry ID with you all the time, unless your flying or driving

No, he had a reason, the reason was that he's trained to be an anti-social dick. (I kid you not)

This is true, if you are detained, you are required to be able to identify yourself, if you can not, you get taken downtown. Which is really a form of arrest. There's some grey area there, but has me thinking about the whole "papers please" Nazi goon thug aspect of it.
To the Idaho residents, I'm jealous. Wish there was an ocean next to Idaho as I'd move there myself.

Enlighten me. I always understood a passport to be permission to travel across arbitrary state lines, granted to you by people who have no right in the first place to tell you where you can and cannot go.

Passports are another form of control/oppression impairing one's movement and a means of compelling one to 'pledge allegiance' to their 'liege lord'. IMO a perpetual state of war is what *necessitates* passports (bearing in mind that messkins are not required to have passports when in the states lol). A 'safe passage' document (referred to in the Magna Carta as necessary during times of war, read that to get an idea of the origins of official travel documents - See http://avalon.law.yale.edu/medieval/magna.asp#41) is far superior to a passport (in that a passport allows passage of a single individual ONLY while safe passage allows an individual to carry goods with him/her). I would suggest you do a search for 'history of passports' and note specifically when passports were not required in most recent history to get a feel for the situation.

I think it depends on the state Mickster, here in Florida it's against the law to open carry even if you have a CC license, there are exemptions to that though.....
Carrying
Unless covered under the exceptions, it is unlawful to openly carry on or about the person any firearm, or to carry a concealed firearm on or about the person without a license.
Exceptions:
Persons having firearms at their home or place of business.
Enrolled members of clubs organized for target, skeet, or trapshooting, while at, or going to or from shooting practice.
Members of clubs organized for collecting antique or modern firearms while at or going to or from exhibitions.
Persons engaged in fishing, camping or hunting and while going to or from such activity.
Persons engaged in target shooting under safe conditions and in a safe place or while going to or from such place.
Persons who are firing weapons for target practice in a safe and secure indoor range.
Persons traveling by private conveyance if the weapon is securely encased, or in a public conveyance if the weapon is securely encased and not in the person’s manual possession.
Persons carrying a pistol unloaded and in a secure wrapper from place of purchase to their home or to a place of repair and back.
Persons engaged in the business of manufacturing, repairing or dealing in firearms.
Military, law enforcement personnel and private guards while so employed.
It is lawful to possess a concealed firearm for self-defense or other lawful purposes within the interior of a private conveyance, without a license, if the firearm is securely encased or is otherwise not readily accessible for immediate use.
A firearm other than a handgun may be carried anywhere in a private conveyance when such firearm is being carried for a lawful use.

Excellent response, though I didn't know all the details, my understanding of passports is basically the same.
