Probably not a good idea to 'brake check' a tailgater -

There's a new term for this outcome vis-a-vis legal gun owners: Obamafication.

Duels used to be fought at sunrise with seconds handy and each only had one shot.
Indian russian roulette: Six cobras around a snake charmer. One of the cobras is deaf.

Note that the defender managed to kill the aggressor despite being mortally wounded - this is known as 'a dead man's five seconds'.

With only one shot I wonder how many badasses would stand there and risk taking a bullet just so they would have time to make a sure shot.

Authorities say both men had licenses to carry concealed weapons.
Some fools think their new concealed weapon license is a police badge.
 it isn't

I saw some serious road rage the other day on the highway - car 1 was following too close to the car 2 front of him, and car 2 german braked him, which pissed off car 1, which sped up, passed on the right lane, then got in front of car 2 and german braked him back. Car 2 tried to change lanes, but car 1 kept maneuvering to keep him from passing, well car 1 finally gets ahead and speeds like a demon to try and pass car 2, which keeps up the speed. Car 1 exits, car 2 crossed traffic to follow him off the exit. From there Lord only knows what happened.

One guy was driving a Ford Taurus and the other a Chrysler PT Cruiser.
Nuff said.

And from the Facebook comments page of this article.

As a family memeber of one of the victims... the story is a little spun around... as media usually get it. The pt cruiser was following close behind the tuarus (my amazing uncle) ... the tuarus pulled into the car wash, of which u can see bc the pt cruiser is a bit behind the tuarus. The driver of the pt cruiser got out and shot my uncle 3and times in the chest while my aunt and my grandmother were in the car... my uncle then shot the man as he ran away.... its horrible that something soo stupid can take an amazing man like this.... very tragic

That is pretty nuts. One thing to be a dick while driving but they could have killed each other or someone else.
Someone pulled that shit on me I would stop and if they wanted to pull over and see how tough they were...

If someone tailgates me I just get the hell out of their way - apparently they have a date with destiny.

Me too. Of course, it bugs me when people in the left lane are going slow, and I'm stuck behind them. Alternately, if I'm in the left lane and someone behind me is approaching faster than I'm going, I change lanes to let them pass. Am I just wrong here or is this just simple common courtesy?

Most Amerikans are clueless, rude, and arrogant reprobates I'm sorry to say. I consider it a cultural defect. IF and when they wake up it will be because they have been given no choice in the matter, however by then it will be too late for them to redeem their sorry asses.

I figure I am being selfish. I would rather they get the speeding ticket than me so they are actually doing me a big favor.

It's always good to have someone else run interference for you.

California drivers are maniacs. Try driving an RV amongst these animals. I stay in the slow lane and go slow. If any hammerhead tailgates me, I go even slower. I don't hit the brakes just slow down. I figure if my probabilities go up in getting in an accident, I'd rather be going 25 when it happens, than 55. Once I slowed all the way down to 25 on the freeway, all the other lanes were clear too and the guy still wouldn't pass.

Driving rush hour in LA was always fun. Going 70 to 0, 70 to 0, 70 then stop and sit
You either had to stay close to the guy in front of you, or far back. If you leave just enough space to fit a car in front of you, someone would jerk their car in between, usually when traffic is about to stop.
