And I'm looking around and thinking to myself, "These guys apparently don't have any money...this place is very dated and could stand some major renovations...a number of capital expenditures have been deferred for forever (like for several decades)..."

i went to an antiwar protest at the Academy Awards in 2001.
the guy who organized it did a good job & we got the best location, right across the street from the entrance.
that was the last year it was held at the Masonic Temple.
the next year it was held at the Kodak Theater.
once i was invited to a dinner by a connector salesman. it was at the Masonic temple in SF.
it seemed like a big fraternity. It was an older non-glitzy building.
I didn't join. At the time I didn't know about the political connections & relation to Zionism.

the masons are a church and like all good churches the stature of its edyfiss is dependent on the stature of the congregation. Some lodges have a higher stature of congregation. Regional lodges tend to be smaller, less glam affairs. just like a small town church.
Regardless of how flash or run down their temples appear, they should be steered well clear of.
I saw a masonic gathering in park 2 weeks ago. They had a big banner setup. Was a maons social group. Appeared to be open to all masons regardless of the temple they belong to. I've also seen a few number plates in the past, say 6 weeks. I've also had some run ins in that time as well. Crossed paths mysteriously with people who say odd things. By odd I mean they know things that come from a long time ago and there is no way they would know unless they had "special access" to things. These people are strangers to me, yet they approach me knowingly, sometimes on the street, and talk to me about things long gone, that they should not know. They are an evil bunch of fucks and people should steer well clear of them.

I didn't piss in anyones, they pissed in mine. Started a long time ago. I have to say I didn't really cotton on until a handfull of years ago, then something happened and the penny dropped. Things that seemed isolated made more sense as a chain of events and so on. Since then it has become more obvious. As with everthing the price of some things far outweighs the benefits received/obtained. I think most of us here understand that. There are no low cost benefits of mixing with those people. I could say more but I won't. Be assured though that there is no one in power who is not one.

Sometimes, if someone comes up to you and tells you things out of your past that they have no way of knowing, you should view it as demonic. The Masonic religion is related to demonic influence in the world.

"The Blue Degrees are but the outer court or portico of the Temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the Initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands them. Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry
." (Morals and Dogma, p.819)

Morals and Dogma is worth a read in whole.
Albert Pike is cut from a different cloth than modern masons...
Masonry is supposed to be, in a nutshell, an initiatic philosophical order, a supposed remnant of the ancient Mystery Schools.
However, for the most part, as it is, it is merely a hierarchy of nepotists. So the infrastructure is corrupted, but the Truth behind masonry is no less True. There is only one Truth, and using words to discuss it is slipshod at best.
The "meat and potatoes" of Masonry has mostly been lost to masons, somewhat like how the true message of Christ is lost to the adherents of "Churchianity".
"While all these faiths assert their claim to the exclusive possession of the Truth, Masonry inculcates its old doctrine, and no more ... That God is One; that His Thought uttered in His Word, created the Universe, and preserves it by those Eternal Laws which are the expression of that Thought: that the Soul of Man, breathed into him by God, is immortal as His Thoughts are; that he is free to do evil or to choose good, responsible for his acts and punishable for his sins; that all evil and wrong and suffering are but temporary, the discords of one great Harmony, to the great, harmonic final chord and cadence of Truth, Love, Peace and Happiness, that will ring forever and ever under the Arches of Heaven, among all the Stars and Worlds, and in all souls of men and Angels." [Albert Pike, "Morals and Dogma"-- Page 576-577, Teachings of the 26th Degree]

Evolution into Scientology, LDS, and Evangelical bases are far better markets to roll investment flows into currently.
Masons are busy with upkeep in their McMansions, the temple an ancient symbol that's only "built to last".
