I saw that on live leak... Badge or no... He was assaulting her. I'm amazed some other patrons didn't help her.

This is after he first defended him.
Drunk Off-Duty Deputy Filmed Assaulting Woman He Handcuffed At Bar Over Argument (http://informationliberation.com/?id=45211)
Deputy Paul Derrick was suspended without pay, though he's yet to face any charges.
The sheriff's department initially defended his actions insisting (http://www.wistv.com/story/23666479/off-duty-sc-deputy-charged-with-assault) he had the "authority" the make such an arrest, "however," they noted, "violations of proper procedures may have occurred."
They said reports he was making an advance at Ball were incorrect, he was instead trying to "calm" her because she was emotionally distraught.

They do stick together.
Hell anyone would be emotionally distraught if a drunk pig handcuffed you behind your back for no reason, and then get rough handled like that pig did her.
Hell of a way to "Calm" anyone, unless they like playing "police in the bedroom"
It was more likely that the stink was so much that they could not cover it up.
Hope that bastard can never find another law connected job, anywhere!

The only i repeat ONLY reason any action was taken was because this video recorded AND it was uploaded to the net.
Barring those two equalizers
This would been a good bacon story amongst the pig men.
Expect ZERO TOLERENCE for citzen protection

Not true, action was taken immediately from other responding officers. The patron who video taped this, showed it to another officer on the scene, and that officer said "things just changed". Then arrested the officer who assaulted the woman. That officer appears to have been arrested within minutes of the attack..

I didn't make that up. That's what one of the articles linked said. The other officer's arrested the off duty cop.
Read this..
By now, Columbia police are on the way. When they arrive, Hughes shows the video to an officer.
"He watched maybe the first 30 seconds of it. And when he heard the Marine-Army comment he said, 'Alright, things just changed. Arrest him, 10-37, and release her.' And that's when I said, 'Sir, I know it's hard, but that's the right thing,'" said Hughes.

Okay, your statement of within minutes started when the cops arrived not of when being on the scene, 10+ minutes later decided to take action.
Either way if they allowed carry in alcohol establishments could have ended this senseless pigs life early. He can no go about his business to perpetuate this bullshit.

This is at least a step in the right direction. It sends a message to cops, you abuse your authority, you will lose your job. That is a good thing. The next step, hopefully, is to start having criminal charges placed against cops like this.
I'd almost argue kidnapping, and assault and battery obviously, to the list.
