Just another PC distraction from the real issues that we face as a nation. The term redskin was actually a term used by at least one Indian nation. The Choctaw used it to describe themselves. The Name Oklahoma means Red people according to an Indian teacher. It is just another divide and conquer topic like abortion, gay marriage and the like to keep the people distracted from the real issues. I am not pure NA and only have about 1/16 Cherokee blood, but the friends I do have in the NA culture tell me that it is only a slur if it has a qualifier with it... like Dirty Redskin. My former brother in law who is 100% Ojibwa from Red Lake MN says its only a few people trying to get their tribe into the spotlight. They call me white skinned brother and I take that as a badge of honor. He embraces the culture and wears red man chewing tobacco hats and has redskin stickers on his truck! He says the people are more upset that its not a viking sticker and are not bothered by the team name that in actuality is used by many NA school teams and worn with pride!

Anyway whats the problem with the team being named after a type of potato? 8-)
