Feebay, if you can manage to hold your nose. Premiums are great for sellers on feebay at this juncture.

This sounds like a joke for you to needing to sell silver Mr. big butter and eggs man.
If for some crazy reason it's not, go to
California Numismatic Investments (see Ken Slater)

Okay then, you have the address. It's not that far from south pass.
Go to their web page and see what they are paying.

Yeah I know, I've got about 1,000 round of police rounds for it. Probably sell the FN FAL with the heavy barrel. It never loaded right though, shit mag and never bought additional to verify it because wtf is the point of a FAL with 5 round mags. Stupid.

The more I think about it the more I'm considering a fire sale, and this has nothing to do with anything other than circumstances.

All the best GoD. Hope you can prioritize what you sell and your situation is not too serious.

Was the FAL what you brought to doom in the desert?

Don't remember, but with the heavy barrel it's probably a 400 - 500 yard sniper rifle.

This is the only gun show coming up that's remotely close to you. If you would consider it, check their rules about bringing ammo and guns. bucks.

If you go to a dealer, they will rape you. www.Gunbroker.com will get you the most

Sell it on craigslist. You'll need to meet at a FFL to transfer the paperwork anyway, probably your best way to get the most for your sale.

Can you take out a loan then sell the stuff you've got over a longer period of time?

Nope, fire sale. Actually looking at selling the 1996 911, it was my dream car, it's got about 20K dollars in a rebuilt motor and transmission I'll let that go for 35K, probably be worth 100K in 10 years.

Forget listing any guns on CL, any listing for a gun on CL will be flagged & deleted in minutes, FOR SURE in Californicate. I tried putting a listing for any Model 12 pump shotguns on CL here locally and ended up putting up the listing simply like this: Wanted, model 12 pump any condition - it was still flagged in a very short period of time. I was advised by a buddy, "The gunowners know to place and view any gun listings on CL after 11 pm for best exposure..." however even with a very limited "model 12 wanted" my listings were STILL flagged as 'prohibited' within hours.

I would suggest thesamba.com classifieds and pelicanparts.com classifieds for the 911 - very good exposure in both, I've noted that's where most are listed and many interested parties go to either when looking for a Porsche (and especially Cali at thesamba.com).

Found a local guy to pay me $21.50 and ounce. Is that a good deal based on current prices?

CNI is paying spot for rounds...which is about $22.75 at the moment
+ $1.50 for eagles
+ $1.00 for maples

That's $187.50 more then your quote on rounds and bars.

If I was still there, I'd give you the $21.50 each in a second and immediately go to CNI and make my $187.50 for two hours work.

General, that sucks that you have to sell at $21.50 per ounce. But we've all been there before, having to sell when prices are low.

Some gun shops will sell on consignment, which means they will put your gun on display and sell it for you for a percentage (don't know what %). Might be worth the effort to call around and find a local gun guy.

The downside to that arrangement is if it doesn't sell then you have to 4473/NICS it out off his books.
