You can't drop in steeper or deeper than this. And in freezing water.

I don't think your average person can comprehend how completely insane this video is..

I am an expert at getting my lunch money taken by waves, I will say that. Nobody wipes out better than me.

That was no 100 ft. wave... maybe 40 ft and not nearly as dangerous as many breaks in the world.
World record my ass...

It's the same spot that McNamara surfed. In fact, almost looks like the exact wave.

the big-wave community might be a little slow to jump on this one.
Maya G., one of the top women's big wave surfers, almost drowned in the same session.
Carlos Burle saved her. she is OK.
it's difficult to gauge these larger waves. they need someone with surveyor type tools on the beach to help figure it out.
it's not hard to figure out where the top of the wave is - but the bottom ?
also there is no rule - yet - about how to measure the top of the wave if the bottom is literally below sea level. this happens sometimes when the water is being sucked off the reef.
personally i would like to see a body-surfer or boogie-boarder get the 100' title, and under their own power.
this wave is close but it doesn't look 50% bigger than the obsessively studied 66-67 foot waves from the last 10 years.
