I was playing with a physics engine called "The Powder Toy". It's a sandbox to play with different gases, powders, solids, electric forces, explosives, etc. What happens when you mix fog with diesel fuel, wax, and salt? Anyway, one of the solids you can use is GOLD. It's interesting that when you put gold in the sandbox it doesn't really matter what atrocities you throw at it - bombs, acid, thermite...the gold collects at the bottom of the screen, unchanged.
