It will go up, though there's no reason to think that it will happen in the short term.

I think the Cartel has sent the message, "No F'ing way you're going to make money on Silver in 2013, unless you are short or an insider." And the hedge funds and other groups chasing short term returns are going along.

I'm curious to see how it will trade the first part of 2014.

I don't know, but Silver is cheap, Bitcoin isn't... I think if you measure the value of the entire market of readily available Silver Bullion vs the entire market value of outstanding Bitcoins, you'll get a similar value... Ask yourself what makes most sense to hold in the long run... All the silver or all the bitcoins, and you would have the answer to what to buy...

I store my wealth in precious metals. I use disposable play money in Bitcoins I don't mind losing. I support both. I don't trust the stability of Bitcoin enough at all to store a reasonable percentage of my wealth in it.

Actually I've focused almost entirely on ammo over the past year. Ammo is the new precious metal to me.

I agree with Shami. I am a Bitcoin Bull but that doesn't mean I have sold all my PM's. I think the answer is to have both with far more PM's then BTC.

I think Sirgonzo has been giving good advice saying that everyone here should have one BTC. Could be worth 10-100k in a few years and if it fails well. You are out a few hundred bucks. Not the end of the world.

MONEX may be cheaper. I can get 2000 for $22.80 per right this instant. I'm waiting - I don't want to catch a falling knife. The DOW looks very toppy now. If it crashs, it could pull gold and silver down to screamin g bargain prices. Two weeks ago I traded in 500 oz of paper silver and bought 205 oz of physical silver and 1 Knc Jupiter bit coin miner. The miner cost 5500 canadian plus another 500 before it gets here. The thing is the more miners there are the safer the system. I am more than willing to spend that in the wild hope that I can fuck the tax collector in a small way. Dont you agree? The miner apparently costs a lot of money in electricity to run and bitcoin is designed to drop in availablity every so often so I hope to get my money back.
