Bangkok, Thailand – After today’s fourth-place finish of Annalie Forbes, the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Grand International Beauty Pageant in Bangkok, Thailand, the Association of Beauty Pageant Franchise Holders (ABPFH) has banned the Philippines from future international beauty competitions, citing “enormous advantage” by Filipina candidates in practically all pageants this year.
The disqualification will be in effect for two years.
The Philippines holds the distinction of having won the title in all major beauty competitions like Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International. Additionally, every new international beauty competition has seen a Filipina winning the title or placing in the top 5. Earlier this year, Mutya Datul won the 2013 Miss SupraNational Pageant.
Forbes is the fourth Filipino to make it to the top 5 in competitions this year. Megan Young, of course, bagged the 2013 Miss World title this year, the first-ever for the Philippines. Before Young, Evangeline Pascual reached the finals and was first runner-up in 1973 while Ruffa Gutierrez was second runner-up in 1993.
Ariella Arida, the country’s bet in the 2013 Miss Universe Pageant in Moscow, Russia, placed fourth.
Other Filipina beauties who have won international titles include Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran (Miss Universe) and Gemma Cruz, Mimilanie Marquez, Aurora Pijuan, and Precious Lara Quigaman (Miss International). Karla Henry won the Miss Earth title in 2008.

In 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Philippines’ Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon were all in the top 5 in the Miss Universe competition.
ABPFH said that it is time for the Philippines to give other countries the chance to win international beauty competitions, adding that “the world already knows how beautiful and talented Filipinas are.”

This has to be an Onion satire. Please say that it is.

Dam to they want wine with their ban?

Two years ? Do they think that all the rest of the potential contestants will/can improve in that time?

Do they think the caliber of beautys comming out of the Philippines will change for the worst in two years?

Totally ridiculous ban, hope the Philippines totally sweep the next contest again, when they are allowed.

BTW

Some world class women in the op!

one of the guys at an Internet cafe i go to mostly uses it to do video-chat with women in the Philippines.

he is full of stories about such as one trip to Manila where he suddenly realized that he was with a he-she.

i don't know what unfair advantage this news article is talking about.

i don't know what unfair advantage this news article is talking about. In Thailand they are called "Katoey's" and some of those he/she's can pass them selfs off as real and stunning.

It was a right of passage to take the "new" guys stationed in country and hit the bars and sic them on them... Major hoot!

That and "Taxi" races!

You mean Tuc-Tuc Races? it is good fun 5 in the morning, as I recall... Very close!

Did not have any Tuc-Tuc's at Ubon, but we did have 3 wheeled bicycles taxi's called "samlor" better name rickshaws.

Also regular car taxi's. I never saw anything that looked like a traffic cop on wheels, driving on those roads was a free for all. With seemingly no rules at all. Think wild west on steroids. And driveing on the wrong side of the road from what we were used to.

And taking a new guy off base for the first time and then sic then on the boy/girls, then end the evening with a taxi race back to base yelling at the taxi driver to go faster and because we payed them more than they usually made in day or possibly week. Regular fee was about 5 baht .25 cents and we would offer 20 to 40 baht, one to two dollars.

And usually they would!

The only rule we had was, we had to be blasted/stoned out of our minds. It was major fun to terrorize the new guys and break them in right.

Major Hoot!

I wasn't aware that the philippines had this.....characteristic. There must be a lot of genetic diversity there, where asian, pacific island, and spanish blood all got mixed together. Kind of like brazil I guess.

If I know anything about Filipinos, last years winner probably got to close to pulling the strings.

So she retains permanent title.

It does matter on the island they come from. Most are a mix of chinese/spanish. Some japanese/spanish, some are just strange jungle bunneys. In most of the big citys like Manilla and Cebu are filled with slender beautiful women. Sure toss in a few he-shes in the mix for unsuspecting travelers and men that just come for that sort of thing. Brazil is more... i don't know, hairy type women, mexico as example. Phil women in general have straight black hair and are slender and are under 5'4" and almost zero body hair, that also goes for the men.

Met my wife on asianeuro.com, have to do your own research of what and what not to watch out for. I got lucky on an easy play. No scammer and a true god fearing woman. No games and when I went there to challenge her and she and her family came in to challenge me! Most are catholic, speak fluent english and are astoundingly beautiful.

A trycicle is a motorcycle with a sidecar. A jeepnie is a small open bus used as a cheap taxi. I wish I figured this shit out 2 wives prior cause I would be a proud expecting father, now I am an older expecting father lol.

They say love can be learned to anyone that cares. I have seen 70+ year olds hooking up and marrying 20 year olds that do work out. Like I said you need to do your research and take nothing for granted before flying over to meet. The flight from most areas in the USi is grueling, 18-24 hours of a flight that seems like you were dropped into a tin can that kids kick around that entire time. You arrive tired and beat to realize you are now in a land of heat, people that cant understand you and if you are alone, well, you are on your own. Have a plan jack and bitcoins don't cut it yet.

The people that can't understand you can usually understand but play it for money. It is a very poor country like the USi will be in 10 years so might as well pick the cream off the top. Middle age men in the US are destined for mediocre outcomes if they have money and are half way decent looking. No so in the phil, ugly and old holds no bearing on love... or scams.
