While millions of Americans spend half their lives or more toiling for a paycheck, millions more are sitting on the sidelines waiting for the government to issue them their next monthly distribution.

You’d think that emergency funds or government subsidization through programs like welfare would be used to help recipients purchase the things that they need to get by and help them get back on their feet so that they can find meaningful labor and contribute to society, but in a system without cross-checks and billions being dished out year-after-year, many have learned that they don’t need to work.

And why should they? You’re doing the work for them in the form of taxpayer subsidies that are deducted from your earnings on a weekly basis.

In America, those who work get punished. Those who don’t, get a free ride, courtesy of a nationwide policy of spreading the wealth around through confiscation and redistribution.

Case in point: A welfare recipient in Austin recently contacted a morning radio show and explained that she gets a lot of money from the program. What she does with it may (or may not) surprise you.

Here’s how your hard earned money is being used to help the less fortunate:

While workers out there are preaching morality at people like me living on welfare, can you really blame us?

I get to sit home… I get to go visit my friends all day… I even get to smoke weed…

Me and people that I know that are illegal immigrants that don’t contribute to society, we still gonna get paid.

Our check’s gonna come in the mail every month… and it’s gonna be on time… and we get subsidized housing… we even get presents delivered for our kids on Christmas… Why should I work?

Ya’ll get the benefit of saying “oh, look at me, I’m a better person,” but when ya’ll sit at home behind ya’lls I’m a better person… we the ones gettin’ paid!

So can you really blame us?
This month the establishment media proposed that the solution to poverty in America, and one that would eliminate wasteful programs like welfare, is to give every American adult a basic monthly income.

If everyone who pays taxes stopped the government would collapse.

If everyone who works stopped and went on welfare the government would collapse.

I kind of see her point. I just cant be dependent on someone else personally.

That's true too. I'm desperate to make my hard work count and not being stolen by parasites. I should enjoy the fruits of my labor.

The fruits of ones own labors and endeavors belong to him or her alone. Not to the state, and not to the parasites who don't want to work.

The greatest sin is being told you do not have the right to 1/3 of your labor.

Nothing new here, I witnessed tons of that (the point of the OP, sleepin' in at the crib all day doing drugs all night while the govt. bennies roll in) in '80-'81, it's just that it's now much more prevalent (hard for me to imagine after seeing the scope of it back then).

The experience that hit it home for me was when I was a teenager, working at a pizza joint, and a friend of a friend took us to his friend's place before we all went out for the night. He told me this friend of his had it made, a heavily subsidized apartment downtown, fully furnished, with welfare checks coming in all the time. When I walked in his apartment, it blew my mind. Beautiful furnishings, a huge TV, a rack full of CDs, a fully stocked fridge. He gave us the tour, grinning at how he gamed the system so he was collecting multiple checks using his girlfriend and her dad as additional welfare beneficiaries, even though he lived alone in this apartment downtown. I never got over that, how he was living way better than the average American, all on their back.

And I agree with Ximmy, what the hell is shocking about this? Everyone knows this is how it works.

Lets see if I remember the phrase.

"To each according to their needs. From each according to their ability."

This is the communist mantra.

Yeah, and it pisses me off that every paycheck I earn is a little lighter in order to pay for these bums.

Rest assured that you are not paying your full share.

That is what the federal budget deficit is all about. If you were paying what you owed (according to your ability) then you would be paying for the privilege of working.

Hardworking Taxpayers are and always have been chumps. Forget everything our decent parents taught us about their America now long gone. Our naive (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/naive) parents raised chumps just like their parents did. Best thing to do now is "go gault" by signing up for every freebie available so their corrupt system collapses faster.

Only chumps now give to so-called Charities. Fuck 'em.

 ...and no, I DON'T have any spare change or a spare cigarette for them either...lol.

As an exacerbation, the older generations of recipients know nothing but how to collect so when the younger generations come up their guidance is simply how to get on the bus and talk to a case worker and go through the motions to get their check and the cycle of dependency continues. Until it can't. Then..watch out.
