ROFLOL, I dont care about the ACLU's racial stance, its a man-made issue anyway to bankroll taxpayers, as we can see here below

ACLU report finds 3,728 will die in prison for nonviolent offenses, costing US nearly $2 billion

Thousands sentenced to life without parole for nonviolent offenses
At least 3,728 prisoners in the United States will spend the rest of their lives in prison for non-violent offenses according to an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) study published on Wednesday. The study found that 79 percent of these prisoners were convicted of nonviolent, drug-related crimes and 20 percent of nonviolent property crimes like shoplifting. The study, "A Living Death," also found a stark racial disparity: 65 percent of those sentenced to life without parole for nonviolent offenses are black and only 18 percent white. These findings coincide with previous studies showing that harsh sentencing laws unfairly target racial minorities...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_incarceration_rate#Comparison_with_o ther_countries

The incarceration rate in the United States of America is the highest in the world today. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_incarceration_rate) As of 2009, the incarceration rate was 743 per 100,000 of national population (0.743%). In comparison, Russia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia) had the second highest, at 577 per 100,000, Canada (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada) was 123rd in the world at 117 per 100,000, and China (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China) had 120 per 100,000.

While Americans represent about 5 percent of the world's population, nearly one-quarter of the entire world's inmates have been incarcerated in the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incarceration_in_the_United_States) in recent years. Imprisonment of America's 2.3 million prisoners, costing $24,000 per inmate per year, and $5.1 billion in new prison construction, consumes $60.3 billion in budget.

Notice the only issue raised here is how much it costs, not whether it is morally right. People who know how to think spot these things instantly. The herd will always only look at the options presented, instead of questioning the entire premise to begin with. This is the core game of 'Politics'. You are given choices and as long as you choose from them, YOU LOSE.

If this isnt the very definition of a POLICE STATE, i dont know what is....
