LOS ANGELES–In commemoration of the 12th anniversary of the war in Afghanistan, activists went to school protesting the man who led the charge; retired General David patreus who joined the University of Southern California faculty this year as a Judge Widney Proffessor and advisor . 


The former CIA director gave a lecture about veterans Tuesday afternoon.
“It’s kind of a front to our civility that somebody like Patreus who engineered the death of women and children in Afghanistan and the Middle East will be given a tenure and he’ll be lecturing today so we’re not going to let him slide,” said Jerry Esguerra of the Answer Coalition. 


The Afghan war anniversary and Patreus’ lecture comes days before US Secretary of State John Kerry visits the Philippines where he is expected to talk about strengthening military ties in the Philippines.
Filipino activists say Patreus stands as a symbol of ongoing US imperialism in other nations. “There’s a lot of issues in the Philippines but even without Obama they advance the use of a base just today congress is like you know we’re just going to let it be that the US can revive the bases in the
Philippines for military encroachment in our solvent land. So that’s the same issue were standing here for. 

General Patreus symbolizes imperial aggression, added Esguerra. 


Last month protests broke out and ended in alleged police violence as patreus gave a lecture at City University of New York where he gives a weekly lecture. 


USC has no plans of removing the title from Patreus whom it has described as a dedicated public servant and remarkable leader.

I know people who went through this but they are ok.

One guy I know had a tree go through his craft shop
