An Argentine car mechanic saw this video on You Tube:

And invented a device to ease live births of babies stuck in the birth canal that looks like this:

Here's a link to a NY Times article about this inventor and the device:

The World Health Organization is excited about this because they think it will save millions of babies in third world countries.

looks like it could very possibly cause head or neck trauma to me, actually there is a device that exists that's close to this; it's used in vacuum extraction births

The mechanic's first model didn't work as well

Exactly

If women were allowed to give birth in the correct anotomical position ( which is one of squating were gravity and the pelvic cavity work in unity )

This would be non issue.

But we are very well established with how institutions. Perverts the natural order of things

Actually, this idea has been thought of before. Interestingly enough, the solution to this problem was to insert a stint behind the object and inflate it, then pulling to extract the object... hilarious episode (back when I used to watch TV)

This device is something that everyone is able to deploy effectively and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It's only natural that the insurance/healthcare industry will ignore or marginalize it, or even try to make it illegal. Interesting that the WHO endorses it.

The head is always the hard part. Once the head gets through, the rest of the body has no trouble. That's why the OB can grab a kid with the salad tongs and pull with little risk of damage. This thing shouldn't be any more risky.
