On November 28, 2013, the SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) spacecraft will off-point at three different positions as Comet ISON moves through perihelion. This website will display near realtime images and movies of this sungrazing comet. Images should begin appearing sometime between 12:45 pm and 1:00 pm ET.

The big question is whether ISON will break up and disintegrate, or stay whole as it goes close to the sun. It should be pretty good before sunrise and after sunset in December if it stays whole...

Wild speculation combined with numerology. But certainly the comet has fragmented, and POSSIBLY we may get some fragments in our general directions. I hope I'll get a lightshow in Svalbard, between 20th December and 23rd of December. A combination of Northern lights and comet storm, should be good, if there are no clouds on the sky...
