I haven't been posting much this past year or so and I kind of miss it.

Many of you I've known since long before GIM was torched to the ground, which is why I know many here are cynical to Thanksgiving and what its become in this corporate, slave-distracting world.

If I may share:

My family was among the 48 NON pilgrim passengers on the Mayflower. The family was that of Steven Hopkins, his wife, and their child (who was born on board, but died before the whole "first thanksgiving"). History Side note: You can see his signature on the Mayflower Compact, but thats another thing all together.

So, some of you can imagine that Thanksgiving has a bit deeper meaning in our immediate family, as we have literally been doing it for almost 400 years, in some form or another.

Im not going into some big historical tirade on the glossed over, fantasy version of Thanksgiving. I just wanted to say "Happy Thanksgiving" and maybe make at least one persons day a little better for it. Now excuse me, I have to go to visit my sheeple family that I cant stand and fake smile for the next 10 hours :) :) :)

Happy Thanksgiving, Heimdhal. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all on GSUS. I am giving thanks that I have not yet become a victim of the police state or all the bankster and other scams, and that I still have my critical thinking abilities, and that I haven't lost too many friends who have succumbed to a mindset of fanaticism.

Yes, I know this sounds cynical, negative and dark, but I find people who are overly cheery to be disingenuous. I'm happy just looking at the bright side of a rapidly darkening world-looking for joy before it turns into a total nightmare. I'm also trying not to endanger my health by not overeating, and avoiding frankenfoods completely, and by avoiding any shopping for a few days while everyone else pigs out on all the 'deals'. Cheers.

Today the neighbor said "Happy Thanksgiving" and I said "yeah, Happy Thanksgiving dude". It was obvious to me that I had replied less than heartfelt so I said "sorry, it's just not in me much anymore". He says "really, how so?"

And off I go...."Gluttony..... bout sums it up, it's advertised, flaunted, reveled in, bragged about and worn like a badge of fucking honor! It's the same reason I will never go into a China buffett, it's a glorified hog trough, it sickens me, the same as Thanksgiving does now. Sorry bout the rant dude, it's just me"

I don't think he took any offense and I may have even got him to thinkin just a bit too.

Also, that got me to thinkin a little more myself. I think if I had a family I would serve a very basic meal, something like 15 bean soup, cornbread, onions, tomatoes and mashed potatoes. The antithesis of the meme, screw tradition. On that note, I think I'll fast today.

Hours after his birth, Breeze was found stumbling around by a farmer. The newborn foal was abandoned by his mother.
That's when the farmer took him to Devon-based Mare and Foal Sanctuary where they instantly started caring for him.
What happened next is both adorable and heartwarming.
The staff put a four foot giant Teddy Bear in with Breeze.
The Teddy Bear's name is Buttons and Breeze quickly warmed up to him.
Without his mother Breeze has found an adorable replacement.
The two have been inseparable and they expect Breeze to be just fine.
Thanks to the rescuers and those who cared enough to take this little Cutie in.
And thanks, of course, to Buttons. (And thanks to Tony B for sending.)

Happy Thanksgiving Hiem. You and I are related. My moms hobby is geneology and Mr Hopkins was one of the topics at dinner.
