Get out there a shop people! Rack up that debt on shit you don't need!

Oh, when this bullshit economy comes crashing down, don't look to me for pity...there will be none.
If you didn't learn your lesson in 08 and bury yourselves again...you can drown in your own piss!

I REALLY, REALLY detest the corporate fleecing known as Black Friday and how it has pervaded and corrupted our society in recent years.

There are some legitimate sales though, and they tend to go through the weekend, not just Friday. Like right now, I REALLY do NEED a new compound miter saw. Its not a want, I NEED one to help with work and around the property projects. Theres some on sale at the home improvment places through the weekend. So if I can manage to rustle up the money, I'll get one. If not, then its not in the cards and all well.

Now, $1,000 for a $2,000 TV that cost $200 to make and getting into a fight over it.....yeah, eff that noise.

Agreed. Whatever is cheap today will be cheaper after Jan. 1. But really, do folk need more gadgets and crap? Would it kill them to buy a few silver coins for their kids?

I'm no fan of corporate greed either but the people feed it with their own greed. If people said FU and stayed home the practice would stop.

That would be silly...that would mean people care about their future. People want it all right fuckin' now!

I went out and bought an extra tank of propane today to have in case there are power outages this winter.

Does that make me guilty of being a Black Friday shopper?

I bought a 1 oz gold Krugerrand today.

I paid $2.

(Of course, I paid with *one* bitcoin which originally cost me $2, and I expect that this Krugerrand will at some point be simultaneously the cheapest and most expensive ounce of gold that I have ever bought.)

Did you stand in a line 100 deep to get a 30¢ discount? Did you club or get get clubbed during this event? Now if you did this on Thanksgiving Day..in the immortal words of Gomer Pyle...shame...shame, shame :)

Not guilty, party on Sparky!

Save $20 being pushed and shoved for four hours?
That's $5/hour. You'd be money ahead by working
a few hours overtime and shop on a 'normal day'.

All if most of this "black Friday" is controlled and stroked to the max...

Do your homework on prices, some of the "deals" are not.

The line was 1 deep, as the customer in front of me was just finishing up. And since there were no customers behind me, I was able to chat for a few minutes with the proprietor, who is a licensed propane distributor that has been operating his mom-and-pop business from his back yard for a very long time. He's an old-timer who has not changed his price in three years. He's open for business 7 days a week. If you really needed it, he would fill your tank on Christmas Day. So I always send my business his way.

So LT, I guess this does not fit the standard Black Friday parameters. Thanks for your absolution!

We had to make a run to the health food store. We drove by a gun store who advertised 100.00 off 350.00 guns. They had about 300 people waiting in line. Mind you it was 27 degrees outside and the fine print on the ad said " Limited to stock on hand" Normally this store only has 1 to 2 on hand. I bet there were some pissed off people who dont read the small print!
This video is kind of funny to watch!

There is such a thrill in getting cheap crap made in China and stepping on other people in the process. When you leave the store with the treasure that will soon be broken, knowing that you took part in trampling some other low level life form and got away unscathed, all before sunrise, you know this is going to be a beautiful day. A sense of accomplishment has been achieved. Yes, I have fulfilled my role in life and did as the TV programmed me to do.
