This exposes the dogma of Big Bang/expanding universe theory, that has become a feature of modern cosmology. You have objects that are obviously connected with each other, that are moving away from us at vastly different speeds, IF the redshift-Doppler effect is correct. Now connected objects don't obviously move away from us at different speeds, they may not move away from us at all. The redshift must be explained differently. In my opinion it has to do with the mass and composition of the objects. A higher mass object will have a higher gravity exertion, and it slows down the photones leaving the object creating the redshift seen. The further away from earth you go the bigger the object has to be to be detectable, which means it will have a greater mass and subsequently a bigger redshift.

Simply there are too many contradictions within Big Bang theory for anyone to take it seriously. As these fine scientist tell their story it is clear that in their seeking of the truth, they have been threatened of loosing, or actually lost, their tenure, funding, loss of observation time at the telescope. And being banned from their circle of peers. Big Bang is a religion!

I do agree with JQP that cosmology have a crisis, especially re Big Bang theory, far too many so called scientists have subscribed to this theory w/o sufficient evidence backing it up. They have been forced to add dark matter and dark energy to the equations so that the observed anomalies doesn't destroy the theory, but it still doesn't add up. We are in an 'Emperor doesn't have any clothes' on situation now. I would say the same thing applies to much within quantum mechanics, and string theory too. Much of it is only wild fantasies and speculation, upheld by too much funding. It points to science being high jacked, and destroyed. Where the propagators of these theories have been put in an ivory tower, and no-one has been allowed to question the theories even... Those who did lost their funding and teaching positions.

That is the photon is a particle with mass. It is now assumed to be only a wave energy, with no mass. It is moving at different speed in different media, with the highest in vacuum. It is affected by gravity. Like a bullet it is stopped by dense matter of a certain thickness, but with increased energy it can penetrate deeper. I am sure most mysteries could be explained if photons were examined like a normal particle with mass according to traditional Newtonian physics...

Dark matter was first used to hold universal Newtonian gravity together. Galaxy rotations do not make sense relative to Newton's gravitational theory, so scientists said, 'well, there must be unseen stuff that interacts with gravity in key locations in the galaxies, and this saves appearances'. When scientists could only account for 4% of the matter needed for the big bang, they reached in their hip pocket and pulled out dark matter again. Since it is useful in two theories, it must be really good stuff. THEN, when they found the universe was flying apart in an accelerated rate they invented dark energy, stuff that cannot be seen, does not interact with gravity, and is actually anti-gravity. They then had to mathematically partition the universe into dark matter and dark energy. Next they invented black holes. Maybe this is to balance the gravity lost to dark matter when they need more dark energy to keep the big bang alive. Ain't science grand? Keep the money flowing.

I have to agree with this approach, first of all it could be an error of measurement, meaning that we have not accurately measured the amount of stars and the masses of those stars, most likely there are big masses that doesn't radiate between the stars, and I think that there are some recent evidence/observations that support the notion of super massive black holes in the center of galaxies. These things in reasonable amounts would probably explain most of the anomalies according to a stable universe model. However they wouldn't explain the supposed expansion and still connectedness of Universe in the Big Bang theory type of universe. I do prefer models and explanations that I can grasp intellectually. I have resigned to the fact that we know very little, but that still doesn't give credence to theories and models which require of us to invent factors many magnitudes greater than what we are able to observe with our current technology. Sure it may be a possibility, but then any other fantastic theory diametrically opposite may also be equally possible...

Here is one I just invented:
Red shift is just an effect of light passing through ether, the more ether it passes through the more redshifted an object becomes. The seen universe us just a couple of 1000's of light years across, what appears as galaxies are actually star systems like the sun looked like a few thousand years ago, where hot gases hasn't really condensed yet to form a star with its surrounding cool planets. It just appears to be galaxies millions or billions light years away, containing hundreds of million star systems.

Now I don't subscribe to that theory, and there are many anomalies that would sort of point in the direction that it is a theory that I pulled out of my ass, but if I educate most scientists of today from an early age that it is only minor details separating it from reality, just like Big Bang theory has been propagated over the last 5 decades, then they would focus on each of those anomalies separately and find a somewhat reasonable explanation for them.
