China says it has successfully landed a craft carrying a robotic rover on the surface of the Moon, the first soft landing there for 37 years.

Yeah, the Chinese say the 2020's, maybe... That would be more than 50 years post Apollo 11. Just that factoid tells me that Apollo 11 never went above low earth orbit... Probably they were fed some psychotropic drugs and were mindcontroled to believe they went to the moon! Too many anomalies!

IF they survive the radiation.

We will be paying China to send some of our people into outer space......like going to Mars?.........we no longer have the means to do it on our own..........to me this is a happy moment for the world and a sad time for the US.......by now we should have been on Mars (at least) on our own.

We could be back there in a flash. Someone start a rumor that Jimmy Hoffa is buried there and the FBI will be there as soon as a warrant is issued.

Or even on the moon... With normal technology development there should be a few permanent Moon stations by now. But in 40 years no man has been back there. Shyly the Chinese says, well maybe we can go there ten years give or take later. Sort of starting out the project idea with very vague statements... I say it was impossible to do it with 60's technology, and it still is with today's technology. The only way this could be exposed is if the Chinese send a manned probe on the way to the moon and they are fried in live webcasts as they pass through the van Allen belts!

I'd pay to see that! :)

Wasn't there a NASA site a while back where you could view the moon up close...like Google earth satellite?
You would think we could watch a space craft in real time, landing on the moon.
I'd still like to see core samples taken from the moon.

Yes mick......we gave it to them in exchange for all the money that we owe them.....nothing more that we can sell them from the US.

Yes, but don't worry you can still watch it as much as you want. I would be a tad careful about posting high resolution images of it on the Internet though!
