my mom won the holiday office pool and got a $500 gift card from walmart. as she is an evil rich doctor and does not need the $500, she proceeded to buy my kids a playstation 4 for xmas with the gift card. ups just dropped it off.
there looks to be not that many games for this thing. anybody have any recommendations? as most of the games seem to be rated m for mature, the kids got star wars angry birds. i'm looking for me now, because you know, i need to test it and make sure it works.

Pick up the latest from the "call of duty". Always fun running around shooting people in the face :)

Just the PS3 here. I've been holding off on the PS4 as it looks like they removed a lot of the functional qualities before. Like being able to stream media to the PS3, pictures, MP3's any of the other video formats, will no longer play on the PS4.
There is Kill Zone - Shadow Fall (Kill Zone fan, good game, fun to play with or without internet.) I'm a fan of the Kill Zone franchise, have played and own 1,2 and 3. But if your kids are young I wouldn't recommend it. There are some pretty bloody parts in the game, same with any of the following. With the improved graphics of these next generation consoles. The blood shed has also been increased and looks more realistic.
Call of Duty
Battle Field 4
All of which are first person shooter games. It's only been out for less than a month now, but games will come on board eventually.

Nintendo's Wii U console would have been a much better choice for kids. Nintendo has lots of kid friendly games like Mario. The Playstation 4 really is geared to the diehard gamers, mostly young adults who want the M rated games. If I were you, I'd take the PS4 back and trade it for the Wii U.

I dunno if your kids will like it or not, but I'd look at the Indie game Trine 2. It's rated E and $20. It's a 1-3 player co-op platformer. Each of the 3 characters you play, Thief, Mage, and Warrior have unique abilities that each help you get ahead. You basically need to work together with your unique abilities to overcome obstacles together. Playing co-op games with other people is a good way to bond in my opinion. It has a lot of real time puzzles too and adventure.

Eze 8:8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
Eze 8:9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
Eze 8:10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
Eze 8:11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

a censer is a container you burn incense in, not a ps4 dualshock controller.

There's Bible games too.
