An Elderly Couple Took The Same Photo Every Season.

The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” for a reason. Explaining how we feel is one way of getting a message across. Another is simply showing each other how we feel. During each season, this couple took a photo together in front of their house. In the resulting series of images below, without saying anything at all, a love story is being told. It’s full of hope, joy, fear and loss, but it’s told in the most unique way. You’ll see what we mean – and then you’ll be moved by it.

Nothing has to be said for us to know what that man is probably feeling in the last photograph. A thousand words indeed.

He won't be with us much longer. Broken hearts are often fatal.

I put my dog down two days ago, the big hound. He was a sweet gentle giant who always acted as the baby who demanded attention. I miss him sticking his snout under my hand demanding that I pet him. He would always crawl up on my lap when I got home from work. The worst for me is coming home, because he would always come running out to greet me, every time without fail. There was never a more loyal friend. He was my child and I miss him so much. When I think of him I get very sad. But I am glad to remember that he lead a wonderful happy carefree existence, never on a leash and surrounded by forest and family.

I think that as we get older and lose the ones we love to death, we lose a little bit of our grip on living. Death seems a little less scary and a little more welcome.

Now that I have studied these pictures it looks like they may have all been taken in 2 seasons. Not sure of the reason for the last one but they have a dreary rainy one before the last one. The sequence of the photos are not in order either. This is pure psychological bullshit.

Now I feel better about it.

Sorry about the loss of your buddy. It's never easy letting them go.

The only thing I really believe is that every day I live I'm one day closer to seeing her again.

Thanks to Mamboni and Twisted for their powerful posts.

Life is an amazing and beautiful energy. The loss of loved ones should enforce our love for them, ourselves and humanity. But often times our egos get in the way which blinds us from appreciating and recognizing the real beauty on the planet. Death should be accepted and loved just as the living were. But i also know it is much easier to say that than to embrace it.

Sorry for your loss Mamboni, but please try and remember all of the good times you had and the amazing feelings your dog gave you. There are people who live their entire lives and NEVER get to experience that.
