Four men were arrested and charged with murder in the terrifying carjacking of a young New Jersey man in a mall parking lot, authorities said.

Bail was set at $2 million for Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry, 32, and Kevin Roberts, 33, all of Newark, and Hanif Thompson, 29, of Irvington, in the point-blank shooting of Dustin Friedland, 30, as his wife looked on.

The quartet face murder, carjacking, conspiracy and weapons charges, said Essex County prosecutors, who worked with federal authorities to nab the suspects overnight.

The FBI and federal marshals arrested Henry in a hotel room in Easton, Pennsylvania. Thompson was arrested in Irvington, NJ, after a swarm of cops used a battering ram to reach him, according to a report.
One of the perps was silent as he was led away, according to CBS 2. (http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/12/21/4-suspects-captured-in-deadly-short-hills-mall-shooting/)
Friedland died because the hoodlums wanted his Range Rover.
“It was the car, not the person, that appears to be the target of this crime,” said Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray.
Friedland and his wife, Jamie Schare Freidland, 27, were returning to their 2012 Range Rover with their arms full of packages at 9:30 p.m. Sunday when the thugs confronted them in the parking lot of The Mall at Short Hills.
Friedland had opened the car door for his wife and was walking to the driver’s side when the killers pounced.
He pushed them away and one opened fire, shooting him in the head. They turned the gun on Jamie, ordering her to get out of the car before speeding off with it.
Police found the Range Rover, its rear window shattered, on Monday morning, behind an abandoned building on Renner Avenue in Newark.

The only way to stop all this bullshit is a public execution of those found guilty of the charges........why give them life in prison while we have to pay for their upkeep?

You just might see that take place.

Those jokers didnt just bump off any lawyer , they bumped off a jew lawyer.

Now watch how swift the justice plays out.

Carjacking take place every day in new germany

I never heard of the feds getting involed in a stolen car murder.

Not trying to excuse the tragedy... just trying to make sure why everybody is seeing the swift action

I have been thinking about this and I want to go on record that this guy was dirty and got bumped off.

My spidey senses are starting to tingle lets look at some facts.

What do you notice about perps?

1 None of them are kids , every man there is a seasoned vet, none of them even fliched for their mug shot with knowing they are going to do life. If those were some kids they would still be hopped up on adrenaline from being on the run. Every mugshot is erily clam.

2 it was a 4 man crew to do a car jacking? Hood rule number 187 it take no more then 2 thugs to do a jack and tippically it is one that is armed . A 4 man crew is indicative of a contract work.

3 one of the perps was apprended in easton PA if you do a jacking and it goes sours you didnt plan that far ahead because you assumed it was going be easy job . So you just end up staying local until someone rats you out. That dude knew he was going down south and was probally waiting for the rest of his contract money and he got nabbed.

I will be VERY interested to see who this lawyer worked for and who he represented because somebody got really pissed on a case he took or didnt defend very well.

Thats my analysis thus far....

I think you are on to something here!

According to this article http://www.nj.com/essex/index.ssf/2013/12/short_hills_mall_shooting_victim_dustin_friedland_ enjoyed_running_trained_with_hoboken_club.html
he worked for his dad Wayne Friedman...

According to a LinkedIn social media profile, Friedland was a project manager who analyzed legal claims at a Neptune contracting firm, Epic Mechanical Inc., which is owned by his father, Wayne. Records show the Range Rover was registered to the company.

I showed this article to a co worker at the hospital i work at and he actually grew up with the first perp.

True story.

Contract killings?

The speed with which all the perps were bagged leads to belief they were tagged from the get go.

Contract killings?

Nah ...i dont think so.

If i had to guess manslaughter on one and acessory to murder on the other where the prosecution couldnt pin down who was the trigger man..

But he was more up to snuff for caring out "snuffing" work

TT you are a genius ... OK here is some stuff I found on the company Epic Mechancial of Neptune NJ

1. Union shop: http://www.ualocal9.org/contractors.asp

2. Govt contracts, yes:
- $3 million contract for roof replacement of local court buildings: http://webhost.co.ocean.nj.us/ocbidportal.nsf/0/59fbe4a55e8cbeea852579ed0053dfd2/$FILE/B2012-82CE.pdf

oddly, there was a Change Order that reduced things by $80K for this http://webhost.co.ocean.nj.us/ocbidportal.nsf/0/59fbe4a55e8cbeea852579ed0053dfd2/$FILE/B2012-82CE%20CHANGE%20ORDER%20%231.pdf

here in 2006, when they won another $3 million bid and the losing bidder filed in court against them: http://law.justia.com/cases/new-jersey/appellate-division-unpublished/2006/a2315-05-opn.html

another contract: http://co.monmouth.nj.us/documents/149%5Cpa8Resoa%20F-288-2009%20-%20%28Agenda%20Meeting%2002-25-10%29.pdf

another, 2007-2008 timeframe page 7 - $1.4 million contract. http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/CMS/Service/NJSOMER/NJSOMER_9/NJSOMER_9_65778.pdf

it is reasonable to assume they were doing at least $5 million a year, figure 20% margin over many years ... multi-millionaires most likely.

page 7 - $1.4 million contract. http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/CMS/Service/NJSOMER/NJSOMER_9/NJSOMER_9_65778.pdf

page 14 - $600K contract: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=22&cad=rja&ved=0CEYQFjABOBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bergenfield.org%2Fsite%2Fhand lers%2Ffiledownload.ashx%3Fmoduleinstanceid%3D374% 26dataid%3D963%26FileName%3D2012-06-18_RegularMeetingAgenda.pdf&ei=Ezu3UpDiAc2AygGP9YGgAg&usg=AFQjCNGvEJwi5gSWx71kWcFBEIjCcY6u-w&sig2=l8U0bDWGgWl9lU26tRn6qg&bvm=bv.58187178,d.aWc

page 12 - $400k contract http://www.hazlet.org/cms/lib05/NJ01000600/Centricity/Domain/6/Regular%20Board%20Minutes%20052013.pdf

3. They have been in business since at least 1997 ... check out the shiksa they hired for sales and project mgmt: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/sarah-molnar/20/a70/10b

4. Are they really well-run, or do they have some kind of unseen advantage ... check out the price differential, $400K on a $3 million contract, on their bids: http://www.njsda.gov/business/CV/ProjectPackageUnderReview/UnderReview_results2.asp?sec=&ContractID=EP-0056-C01&ProjectPackage=EP-0056

5. Looks like they were involved in some NYC, expensive work that they ended up getting sued over, a $300 million renovation of something in Central Park South: http://www.law360.com/articles/462181/nyc-co-op-allowed-to-sue-over-shoddy-building-work

So yeah, what is really going on here? I don't know enough about NJ to understand ... but it is interesting how all the bids I found using a Google search, Epic won.

Somebody wasnt happy about the cut on a contract ole fly wss brokering or they got pushed out all together.

So they took out a contract because they werent happy about a contract.

Typical tribe behavior.

The speed with which all the perps were bagged leads to belief they were tagged from the get go.

Thats another angle as well.

If you see a gag order in place you know this has nothing to do with a carjack and everything to do with bigger yiddish fish squaring up details.

Or if you see the story just drop like millstone in a lake.
