Since being gay is a sexual orientation and Boy Scouts are ages 10 through 17, and federal law states the age of consent is 18...Are the Boy Scouts openly approving children having sex, homosexual sex?

Dallas — The Boy Scouts of America will allow openly gay scouts for the first time as of Wednesday, with the century-old group facing conservative dissent from within for making the change and criticism from rights groups for not going far enough.

Some of those upset by the change have joined socially conservative groups such as start-up Trail Life USA, which says "any sexual activity outside the context of the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman is sinful before God" and runs counter to its core values.

i'm a scout leader. here is what will happen (already seeing it happen): almost everywhere, there are troops sponsored by churches and other troops in the same town sponsored by public schools. people send their kids to x or y troop depending upon their level of faith, generally. all the gay scouts will be herded to the public school troops. the church troops will remain gay free. all of the public troops will eventually die out, as people remove their kids from the public troops and put them in the church sponsored troops to avoid the gay kids. eventually, it will be almost gay free again due to "gay flight." again, already seeing it happen firsthand.

in our case, it was kind of an "everyone in the room knew" type thing. it was very obvious it wasn't going to go over when he joined, as 100% of everyone in our troop is catholic and goes to catholic school. it was suggested to him to go to the public troop. same thing is happening in the "big town" south of me.

Didn't the federal government have a lot to do with forcing the scouts to accept gays in the first place? Do you think they'll just sit idly by while people engage in the ultimate sin of gay discrimination?
