You are correct. Imagine someone making $18 an hour. They cut their hours from 40 to 29, that's 11 hours a week. 44 hours a month. That's $800 a month gross. About $600 a month on the check.
So a person has to decide whether to work full time and PAY MORE for insurance, or cut their hours, make less on the check, but NOT PAY ANYTHING for Medicaid.
The first 2 guys had their yearly deductible JUMP $750 a year. The ones with kids have to pay more also. At least $1500 a year, maybe $2750.
The woman at the 2:30 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuA2_P-m4Sk&t=2m30s) mark, her premium jumped $260 a month. Her monthly premium is now going to be $895. She WOULD BE better off, cutting her hours and going on Medicaid.
The woman at 3:10 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuA2_P-m4Sk&t=3m10s), her payment goes up to $1360 a month.

Why work???

Blind trust is just that, blind. You make your meager monthly payments to the trust, at a PO box. You rent, not own. They can't take your house for not paying the health care tax because it's not in your name. I have not done this yet but it looks pretty straight forward according to my CPA.
