VERY interesting.

do a Jewgle search for 'Glock 42' - and not one single ad. i was looking to see what the price is.

i like ad-free web-surfing, but not when the ads are pulled for Jewo-political reasons.

did another search - $450.

It looks too big to me. If I'm going to get a 380, it needs to be small, otherwise I might as well just get a 9mm.

Reliability should be the #1 consideration above pretty much all else.

Wider than a Kahr P9 9MM, why carry a .380?

Reliability should be the #1 consideration above pretty much all else.

I have a Ruger LCP, for my easy-to-conceal pocket gun. However, I own multiple Glocks, and I've never, ever suffered a jam with any one of them, while my little LCP has jammed on me a few times. Even though, as Shami's chart shows, the G42 is larger than the LCP, I have to consider the upgrade, because of your point.

If the 42 is anything like the full size glocks, you'll wear out your wallet before you wear out the gun.
I read the Glock factory has a 17 on display that's had 300,000 rnds put through it and it's still in service.
I've looked at the Kahr's and they are not built to shoot many rounds. If you only want to shoot it a few times and carry it, fine...but I don't think you'll ever see one on display with anywhere near that many rounds shot.
I'd like to check out a 42, but I'd probably not buy one. It would make a great back-up pistol, or ankle gun.

I regard the Kahr and the Keltec guns as toys that cannot be depended upon 100%.

Want maximum concealment with maximum reliability? Look into Seecamp or Rohrbaugh.

Better make sure you can get AMMO for a 380. it is not easy to come by!

LCP still looks the best to me. The Seecamp has a good size, but based on what I researched it's very picky about ammo, which is a no go for me.

Want maximum concealment with maximum reliability? Look into Seecamp or Rohrbaugh.I agree. Kahr is inferior in quality to Glock. I just hate Glocks. Seecamp and Rohrbaugh are very high priced if you can even find one.

The Kahr filled a giant void in gun markets. Finally someone came out with a truly concealable 9MM that was affordable. Many so called "compact" 9MM's are way too fat to hide.

Glock pistols go BANG! every time you pull the trigger and the way Glocks are manufactured they will take incredible amounts of abuse and neglect - what's to hate about that? You hate 'em 'cause they're ugly, the trigger breaks like a toy dart gun, or what?? ???

I really want to buy a Glock 19 Gen 4 and a 10mm Glock. I'm unsure on whether to get the 29 or 20. I like that I can conceal the 29, but the 29 may be too snappy too. I have small/mediumish sized hands. Any comments would be welcome.

My current CCW is the Glock 26, hence the avatar. I'm hoping to replace that with the 19 someday.

I tried the G19 when I was in the market for a 9mm, but I have larger hands so the full size G17 was a perfect fit for me. I own multiple Glocks, colts, Rugers, and other lesser known handguns, but my Glocks are my favorites, and my G17 hands down is my #1 go-to handgun.

If you're not satisfied with your trigger in the least bit, a simple upgrade with one of the aftermarket trigger groups are a huge upgrade. I went with the Zev Tech fully adjustable fulcrum trigger and I'm very happy with it. I paid about $135 several years ago. It's a billet aluminum trigger, comes with the ghost disconnect and a titanium firing pin safty w/spring.
And they're not ugly...the beauty is in simplicity!

Don't limit yourself, if you get a G17, G19, or G26 you cannot change out barrels for either .40 or .357 Sig., however all the .40 and .357 Sig Glocks will accept 9mm aftermarket barrels.

That's why I want to get a Glock in 10mm. I can fire all those calibers with that.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I want to stick with Glock because of aftermarket parts and reliability. If it's a 380, I'm interested in non-Glocks. I have a lot of guns I want to buy, but waiting till after tax season and Winter to do all that.

I will say though, that is a beautiful pistol. If I'm gonna get a 1911 though I want a big caliber like 45acp or 10mm.

Though honestly I've been putting a lot of my money into cryptos lately.

My Kahr P9 fits in my front pant pocket holster. A Glock is just too fat for pocket holster concealment. A couple of hours with some Blue Magic (http://images.oreillyauto.com/parts/img/large/bmg/400.jpg) while watching a DVD movie made it reliable enough for daily carry. I also own a Glock G19 which is just not concealable during the summer unless you want to wear an overcoat in August.

 Crimson Trace (http://images1.opticsplanet.com/365-240-ffffff/opplanet-crimson-trace-front-activation-compact-laser-guard-holster-combo-kahr-ctlskhrhlg437h.jpg) and factory night sights makes a huge difference

I'm not a big fan of pocket carry, but when I do (usually at home,) I use the Ruger LCR - With the Crimson Trace, of course.

I tend to carry a lot of EDC supplies in my pockets like knives, first aid, naturopathic capsules/medicines, lighter, cell phone, and so on. I stay away from pocket carry in public since of that, and since I feel more nervous I'll grab the trigger and shoot myself when I try to fish it out of my pocket. I carry with a leather holster under my belt/pants, and I've found that to be very comfortable and unnoticeable with the PROPER quality holster. I can also deploy the gun faster with an under the belt holster than a pocket holster based on my experiences.

My Glock 26 is mostly unnoticable in Summer, though the handle sticks out a bit with my extra finger grip extensions I added to the magazines so I fixed that by adding a cell phone holster on the opposite side of my body to "balance" it out. Now its less detectable for Summer carry even with a simple T-shirt over everything. The downside I found to the large width of the Glock 26 with the under the belt holster was I had to get +1 or +2 size pants to fit it properly. Once I did that it was completely fine and I'm happy with it.

I dunno what it's like to carry the Glock 19 yet so I can't comment, but I do want something bigger with an accessory rail for sure. I've already made the Glock 26 bigger with the magazine extender for my pinky to grip. It basically looks like this now:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/413jr92UOwL._SX300_.jpg

I'm getting the full grip of a handgun with my smaller hands and a conceal carry package. That's really awesome to me.

I'm getting 10 + 1 in it currently, but could get 12 + 1 with the current size profile if I got the right magazine extender. Honestly, if I'm gonna go for a single stack I'd rather just go and get a 380 to get something smaller than my LCR. The idea is to try to have a gun for the outfit you're wearing at the time as much as possible.

The great thing about Glocks is all the awesome ways you can expand each gun with aftermarket parts. I mean I can add a 50-round drum magazine to my Glock 26, or a 33-round happy-stick and shoot all day. That's awesome!
:)

Since I live in bear and lion country, carrying a revolver is a way of life. I like a semi-auto that operates similar to a revolver. Switching back and forth between the two can lead to confusion. Another thing is that a chambered Glock is like carrying a 1911 chambered with the hammer back and safety off (I forget which condition that's called). Too dangerous for me.

Sure, you can say "training, training, training"....that does have merit. If a Glock is the only handgun you use, good enough....at least for most people. How often do you train two seconds after you're awaken in the middle of the night by a bullet grasing your skull?
There have been many cases of Glockleg. Most of them by stupid people and cops (excuse the redundance). I have had stupid moments in my life. I want the next one to be inexpensive.

I'm not a big fan of pocket carry, but when I do (usually at home,) I use the Ruger LCR When I lived down South I used to carry a S&W J frame (about the same as LCP) .38 in a belly band or Kangaroo holster (they quit making the latter) under a short sleeved shirt and it was undetectable. Since these revolvers are narrow at the muzzle and bottom of grip, they hide well in spite of the width of the cylinder. Much of the time I would leave one shirt buttom undone so I could quickly get at the .38.

I used to routinely carry a Govt. Model cocked and locked - I ALWAYS made sure when holstering/unholstering it that the muzzle was never pointed at any part of my body*. I had this one IWB molded holster for it that accommodated the extended safety, the weird thing about this particular IWB holster is that when I drew the pistol and I heard the safety go 'click' (as in coming off safe) the safety would ALWAYS still be on, and when I didn't hear the 'click' the safety would ALWAYS be off.

*In '89 there was this Texas Ranger I got to know and I sold him a very sweet custom 25-2 S&W in .45ACP, his name was Ron Stewart and he routinely carried a cocked and locked Govt, model - one day while saddling up for a drug raid he shot himself in the thigh was his cocked and locked Govt. Model. It all boils down to paying attention no matter what you're carrying.

I have been known to have brain farts.

When I'm at home I'll pocket carry a Ruger LCR as well, with Hornady critical defense +P. I find it fits very nicely and comfortable in the pocket. Personally, I think the Ruger is just as reliable as the glock. The glock 27 was what I carried concealed when I was allowed, with an under the wasteband holster. I never liked that, found the gun hard to get to and uncomfortable.
