The meme at the end is the same ol' line of horseshit - adopt a 'rescue'*, surest way in the world to end up with an absolute POS via a complete crap shoot.

*adopting a 'rescue' actually supports the stupidity of those who allow 'accidental breedings' - reminds me of the Toyota commercial where the 'hunk' walks up to his significant other and announces "...and I rescued this puppy" (hunk enters scene holding a 6-8 week old puppy), like what kind of puppy needs to be 'rescued'? (rhetorical question, only stupid people have 'accidental breedings' which produce puppies needing 'rescuing')

Thank you for this. I'm going through a breeder for my next puppy and people are giving me shit that I'm not rescuing some dog off the streets. I prefer to go through an experienced, reputable breeder with a track record for producing healthy pups in a clean environment with strong healthy parents. Silly me, right.

It's not just about any potential health i$$ue$, it's also largely about temperament - since you're looking at having a new household member for 10 or more years. Doing the 'rescue' thing is generally about being stupid yourself by perpetuating the stupidity. lol

What kind of dog are you considering getting? (I still have one very awesome female working Dobe puppy I'm being very selective about placing.)

What awesome for real Dobes look like -

I'm getting a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Their size, intelligence, temperament and personality is a perfect fit for my family. I was tempted to get another beagle but they're just a little too independent and can't be trusted off a leash lol. The Pembroke breeder says the mom went into heat at the end of last month so the litter should be here just before April and then 6 weeks later I get my pup! Perfect spring timing. ;D

The dog in the OP looks like Scooby Doo that's been fed GMO dog food :)
