I hope he's smart enough to first roll that dumpster onto its front, that keeps him from having to crawl up and into it and it gives him a little patio of sorts, with the ability to close/open it when wanted.

Shipping containers are optimum but regular dumpsters are easier to commandier.

I remember reading about that. Possibly in Guiness Book of records in late '70's, which if that is true, he did it prior to auto-pilot, GPS and satellite weather data, which means he probably didn't sleep too much, during the crossing!
