Marijuana: Why We Smell a Profit ... And Changes to High Alert Capital Partners By Anthony Wile (http://www.thedailybell.com/definitions/params/id/2012/) - February 08, 2014
Well, it has certainly been a whirlwind month here at High Alert Capital Partners. Many changes are taking place.
It's all part of the rollout of a globally focused venture capital consulting and business services firm that will be working diligently to identify early-stage investment opportunities – something I have been doing on a personal basis for almost 20 years.
The difference now is that rather than just consulting to an international network of asset managers, family offices and other high net worth institutional investors, we will introduce these ideas to self-directed investors and even providing means for direct investment.
TheDailyBell.com will be a gateway to investment opportunities for accredited and institutional investors. On September 23, 2013 the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ratified legislation that enables venture capital to flow directly into investment opportunities without the need for a broker dealer standing between the two parties.
This was accomplished by removing the non-solicitation rules that had been in effect and continue to be in effect in all other developed countries and also extending the number of shareholders a private company could have to 2,000 from 500 before being obligated to become a reporting issuer.
This is a virtual death sentence for the OTCBB and Pink Sheet markets; entrepreneurs with quality companies are now able to avoid the myriad complications associated with being public – especially on markets as sketchy as the aforementioned.
Today, people intent on actually building a business instead of just "promoting" one are able to do so because outreach through marketing to accredited investors (http://www.thedailybell.com/definitions/params/id/34628/) is permitted.
This is a drastic change to the venture capital landscape – and as Forbes has reported there are approximately nine million accredited investors in the United States. It's part of what is causing the Wall Street IPO-boom we've been covering.
In fact, if you haven't yet read my latest book, Financial Freedom – The High Alert Way to Discovering Winning and Profitable Investment Ideas, now might be a good time. You can download it for free here (http://www.thedailybell.com/books-by-anthony-wile/) at The Daily Bell.
It delves into the entire changes briefly discussed above and MUCH deeper into the overall dynamics that are influencing the business cycle (http://www.thedailybell.com/definitions/params/id/634/) and lays out in vivid detail how we intend to generate great wealth in both phases of the Wall Street Party – including the hangover side of the equation, which will be one hell of a hangover for those unaware.
In the meantime, we're offering new postings that will introduce you to High Alert Investment Management Inc. ("High Alert"), the general partner to High Alert Capital Partners LP (the "Partners Fund").
You are invited to meet our institutional research team – all of whom possess the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or are candidates for said designation – who diligently analyze and prepare institutional quality sector and company specific research reports. This is an important part of High Alert's overall due diligence process on potential new investment opportunities for financial partnership consideration and subsequent introduction to our global network of self-directed investors.
Our site introduces two exciting ways you can invest (if you are an accredited investor) in high growth potential investment opportunities:
Self-Directed Investing: For as little as $ 10,000 per deal, on a first-come, first-served basis, you can build your own self-directed portfolio of uniquely positioned investment opportunities.
Managed Investment Portfolio: If you prefer a more hands-off managed approach, you can invest directly in the Partners Fund (minimum investment of $ 50,000), which guarantees you access to all High Alert investment opportunities.
But enough housekeeping – exciting though it is.
This newsletter focuses on some of the trends I believe are the most promising, including precious metals (http://www.thedailybell.com/definitions/params/id/804/), organic farming and biotech. Our feature focuses on the promise of a new kind of "organic" crop – marijuana – which is being decriminalized around the world and is now legal in the South American country of Uruguay.
We smell a profit! Read on and perhaps you'll sniff one, too. Marijuana comes with built-in name recognition and a vast and enthusiastic user base. You can be sure that we will focusing on this most exciting opportunity and deciding on ways that we can leverage one of the most exciting markets emerging today.
Please look for a special research report in the near future.
Our newsletter wouldn't be complete without a "lighter side" – and so we present to you Toronto City Council deliberations over various budget issues including significant costs for tree planting. We recently wrote about the war between budget-cutting Mayor Rob Ford and the more liberal Toronto City Council, which claims to resent, in aggregate, Ford's alcoholic and drug-taking habits.
During the budget debate, Ford's behavior was set aside but other probing questions were asked, most saliently whether or not Ford knew "the value of a tree."
Read on to find out for yourself.
