i had borderline high cholesterol a few years ago. went back in today for a checkup, my doc asked me if i had laid off the eggs the last few years, i said no & he started bitching at me. fwiw the doc in question is a good fishing buddy, so maybe he was just busting my balls, but it got me thinking, are they really bad for me?

Eggs are the best food you can eat, bar none. Egg ingestion does not raise your serum cholesterol. 90% of human cholesterol is made endogenously. Your doc is a quack. The big pharma/food industry want us to stop eating eggs for the same reason they villified saturated animal fats and pushed us into eating polyunsaturated/partially hydrogenated frankenstein fats: to destroy our health and make us dependent on their drugs (prescription poisions). Someone here posted a great video exposing the "saturated fats are bad for you" scam. One hundred years ago, farmers lived on raw milk, cream, butter, eggs, beef and pork and grains and there was almost no cancer and heart disease. Today we are dropping like flies from same disease. Don't you wonder what has changed?

The oriental grocery I sometimes stop at had eggs packaged 8 to a container near the cash register. Quail eggs for $2.50. Not a lot of eating there so you would probably run out of money before the cholesterol kills you.

Cockatrice eggs must be those from roosters.
Nah.... that is an old mythical beast.... rooster head on a serpent/ dragon.

But the Isaiah verse refers to the eggs of the liars and those who hate justice. It is a warning not to ingest the evil of others. Don't feed on corruption.
Chicken eggs are - as doc wrote- some of the best whole food you can get.

At the same time though, you need to stop eating all that refined processed crap. Eggs are good, eggs with white toast are not.
Also, no cockatrice eggs. :)

The Lord Jesus Christ ATE butter! What better example is there?
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

Eggs are fantastic for you. They are like a fist in the your face, a jaw breaking punch full of protein. They are inexpensive, and go great with bacon. Anything that goes great with bacon can't be bad for you.
Eat away. Don't forget about bacon though too. One must have a balanced diet.

Chad found a market to corner.
Nicaraguan egg producers refute shortage claims
Feb 10, 2014
Claims that there is a shortage of eggs in Nicaragua is false, poultry farmers of Nicaragua have reiterated.
Although egg traders are becoming vocal about the number of eggs on the market, the chief executive of the Nicaraguan Association of Poultry and food Producers (ANAPA), Alfredo Velez, has reported that there is no shortage of egg in Nicaragua.
ANAPA chief executive said egg production in Nicaragua reaches about 50,000 boxes of eggs per day, representing 1.5 million units, an increase of around 10% per annum, and an sufficient for domestic consumption.
The poultry farmer said they have about 15,000 customers in the country, and they supply the product permanently throughout the year.
Traders are arguing that a shortage of eggs has developed in the country and that the product has become more expensive, but the Nicaraguan Egg Commission (CNH - Spanish acronym) has issued a statement claiming that "the price of eggs has remained stable since November 2013."
Traders have now put a complaint into the offices of the Agency for Promotion of Free Competition (Pro-Competition), but Velez said the association is willing to testify if necessary, as he states thar the poultry industry is doing their job and have nothing to hide.
For his part, the head of the Directorate of Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAGFOR) , Manuel Rodriguez said at this time government authorities have no plans to conduct health inspections of certification in the Honduran egg producing plants for an eventual allowance of imports from that country. However, Rodriguez did not rule out that this may happen if domestic demand for the product requires it.
According Anapa, the country has about 12.8 million laying hens eggs and broilers, and an estimated production of 262.8 million pounds of chicken and 540 million units of eggs.

I remember a puff piece on the tube about twin 94 year old farmers from Wisconsin who quit farming and moved into an assisted living facility because all their friends were there. Their daily diet was a dozen eggs, a pound of cheese and beef because that's what they had. Fear not the eggs, Chad. Especially over some corned beef hash.

I just had a couple. Delicious. Boil eggs for about 6-7 minutes. The yolk will be transitioning from runny to mushy; both are okay. Put them in a small bowl, and chop them up a bit so that the yolk mixes in with the whites. Salt lightly. I must have mine with toast because it absorbs the yolk and tastes delicious.

Put them in a small bowl, and chop them up a bit so that the yolk mixes in with the whites. I simply peel them, sprinkle sea salt on them and toss them down the pie hole whole. Teeth mix white and yolk. No dishes to wash.
Bachelor style.

Over a year I read "The Primal Blueprint" by Mark Sisson and decided to change my diet to that. I think it's pretty much the same as paleo, meaning to eat the foods that man has been eating for ages and skip the modern varieties. Number one rule: eat plants and animals. I currently get the majority of my calories from fat, and very little from carbohydrates. I stick with that and have been doing pretty good, I'm skinny again and am down over 30 lbs since.
My current routine is to prep a skillet with coconut oil, and cook a two-egg omelet with fresh grated cheddar cheese inside. Right off the skillet, salt with the real earth salt.
