Bolo rounds have been around a long time and they've never really made it into main stream self defense circles. They keep trying, but the real world application is they just arent that good. They tend to fail in their function often, they have amazing damage to ballistic gel, but when met with inconsistent densities of masses and things like bone (particularly the denser, harder bone of the breast plate) foil them from getting good pentration.

I hate saying all these things becuase I for one LOVE innovation and ingenuity. I love to see people reinvent the wheel and come up with something great, but some wheels have been reinvented....over....and over....and over....

Its a lot like the new R.I.P. round. On paper and in "test" it looks amazing, but its been tried before and they just dont do what they need when they need to do it. :(
