First time I have ever seen an atm offer $50's. They had a choice of all $20's, a mix of both, or all $50's.

Yeah, something going on.......today I collected a large debt and more than half of it was in fifty dollar bills.....which makes me wonder, are they going to get rid of all the hundred dollars bills?..........I have a large (large to me) amount of the old old hundred dollar bills, I wonder if they will honored them any longer........I did keep them because they don't have the bars codes of anything like that, safe from scanners.

I always save ones and fives and trade most in for twenties at the local country store to avoid raised eyebrows at the CU. I've been doing it long enough that they call me for easy change on busy weekends.

Apart from the rest of them I do have $1,000 in 5, 1,000 in 10, and 1,000 in 20........who knows when I will need them........in the future they will get rid of all paper monies and issue a "Debit-Credit Card".........they will be able to track you from the day that you are born till the day that you die.

I'm concerned about the new 100's as well. I'm wondering if there is some tracking capability.
Worst case Ponce is that they require you to exchange your old money for new money. They might have some window of time to do this, like a year. This would be a first. No FRNs have ever not been honored because they were too old. It would be an interesting development if this were to happen.

You will need them if the electricity goes out for an extended period. During Katrina, cash was king because nobody could use credit or get access to ATM cash. There's a story of cab drivers in the Super Dome who were willing to drive stranded people out of the city before it went into lock down. The people with cash got the rides.
Oh, and it looks like you need to pick up a few 1's... :D
