ok welll the video is of a police man in uniform who has a person face down on the pavement and he is trying to secure the guys hands. No one is yelling or making noise. They just seem to be grappling hands for a short time. Then the guy starts to twist and manages to get around from under the cop. The cop asks someone, I think the video taking guy for some assistance here, or it may be a call on his radio.
Anyway at that point the man twists around and is now grappling full on with the cop. He then gets over the cop. He then starts punching the cop. The people videoing tell the man not to fight the cop but he starts swinging. The cop goes for his gun. The people can see whats going down. The man gets shot twice.
I don't see any problem with the cops actions at that point. There is no information about how the whole thing started but I would guess the man may have been intoxicated. I am guessing. Can't tell from the video but I personally think the guy was in the wrong. The cop did not seem out of control or anything at any time.
A man is videoing and he has a woman companion. The woman wanted to intervene and the guy stopped her. She asks the cop what did he do but the cops got his hands full. So no one knows what the start of it was. I'd be interested to see how other people see this.

The guy was haggling with a cabbie pre-ride about how much it would cost to send his drunk friend home. He didn't like the price, so he left. The cabbie thought he should have been paid for the time he spent haggling. The cop (actually off duty and moonlighting as a security gaurd - in his city issued uniform) noticed the disturbance and chased the guy down and tackled him to "diffuse the situation."

The off duty firefighter is wearing a suit and tie and he fights very coordinated for someone who is supposedly drunk so why pray tell is the cop trying to bust his ass in the first place on what seems to be a mostly secluded street at night?
Few years ago i watched at an outdoor event as five Chicano types put the boots to a guy on the ground until he was unconscious, then entered their SUV and drove off with a city cop parked in his car 100 feet away watching the whole event and did nothing.
When the balloon goes up cops will be targeted. If you are one you best keep that in mind.

Why is it that so many morons who think they are filming something always flinch or forget they are filming at crucial moments?
If the cop aggressively battered the guy without cause in the beginning... not filmed.... then the cop is guilty of instigating an event and murdering the guy "in self defense". When a cop puts himself into a place of committing a crime, he no longer has the defense of self-protection. The court / cop system will not find justice though.

I don't know the background, but you never fight a copper, whether he's in the right or wrong.
That is a textbook example of how to get shot.

I would be interested to know the exchange between the Taxi driver and the Security Guard/Cop. Did the Taxi driver think the Security Guard was a Cop. He was in his Cop uniform. Did the Security Guard/Cop make it clear he was not a Cop or did he put his Cop hat on at that time?
If that were the case then I think that is something a court would need to address. Maybe not a criminal one but a civil one. But still maybe a criminal one.
The other thing I take away from this was in the stopry itself. The Jury returned the indictment as "No True Bill". Goes back to the whole freeman/commerce thing.
