I have forgotten all about this till just a few minutes a go I read at another site something related to this.
I read in a newspaper about a job for which you had to go on a certain date and time for an interview.
I went for the interview and there were about ten more people......after waiting for about fifteen minutes this old man walks in the front door with a furniture on a dolly, I could see that he was having trouble so I got up right away to give him a hand, I helped him to the other end of the waiting room where he opened a door........he then turned around and told me....the job is yours....he was the owner of the company and that was the way that he looked for people to work for him :)
Another time while working at a service station this lady came in an old car and asked for a dollar worth of gas and I said to her "Excuse me, are you sure that you can make it home on a dollar worth of gas?, I can lend you two dollars and you can pay me back next time that you come".........well....she was a station inspector for Chevron and she gave my boss a hell of a good report, two days later I became the service station manager :)
While stationed in Alaska we did a war game with everybody running all over the place.......that night I infiltrated the "enemy" camp and placing a knife at the throat of the Colonel I captured him and took him away on his own jeep......I got a seven days pass for that one :)
But............twice I almost got a court martial for getting on the line of fire of our own troops......but that's another story :(
And also got promoted to SGT for taking the place of the "dummy" in the Sky Hook at Disneyland at Ft Bragg....after getting chew out by the Col hahahahahahaahh.........
None of my second term service DD-214 are mine...... or at least the "three" that saw about ten years after leaving the Army...but that's another story......maybe because I was TDY with someone else? hahahahahaha.
With the old man and the dolly?, here I cheated because I felt what was going on and took advantage of it.
