Snapshot taken within a few miles of my QTH. I'd bet the snowmobilers are looking for this critter like crazy.

A few years ago we had a minister do a dead stick wheels up landing on the farm. His crankshaft broke on a Cessna 210. He cleared a 12.5kv powerline by 100 feet in the dark, kept it level and skidded through a woven wire fence before stopping. The crash was a draw for the local snowmobilers for a week.

Do you remember the radio caller who wanted all the Deer crossing signs moved because it created a traffic harzard with all the deer using the deer crossings. Not because it's the aeons old migration paths that deer follow but because the signs caused the deer to congregate at the crossings.

We seem to have a similar thing going on here at the moment. The Victorian state Govt has opened 3 national parks for deer culling. That is not hunting but culling. Deer are an introduced pest. Fixed number of deer and fixed number of hunters. Someone wrote in and said, instead of killing them, couldn't ask them to move on?

Typical. Instead of murdering these precious animals in cold blood, has anyone thought to asking them to move on. No, just the usual shoot first, ask questions later attitude from this government.

Around here they are letting people hunt deer by bow and arrow within the cities.

Anyone who shoots the moose ends up with a hefty fine.

Some animals are more equal than others.
