Almost 7 amps run load, tad over 7.75 amps peak. Wonder if it sounds like an angry hyped misquote? Tho at 40 lbs easy to tote.

I would be wary of those cheap generators from harbor freight. Dont run a long extension cord when used. I hooked a fan into a friends cheap harbor freight generator and my fan was dead by the morning. I would never hook up any electronics to it. I think it was running low voltage and it fried the motor... but I dont really know.

And yes they are loud and clacky sounding. Not like a nice Honda 2000.

Pros: light, inexpensive. Cons: Loud, not robust/durable, 2 cycle engine

They that buy, they maybe good for small power tools/lights/resistive loads. But for god's sake never for electronics of any shape/form and or fashion.

Tho Most cars/trucks are just as good if you have the copper to span the difference.

the comments look good on this ........ 800 watt generator 5 starsI own 5 of these generators. Yes,5!!!!! Each one works fine and never any trouble. I use this generator at my remote cabin. It runs at least 16 hours a day most days. After 2 years and 800 hours I figured I better get another one as a backup because surely this one couldn't last much longer. It seemed like it was pulling a little hard when the refrigerator came on. Well, I changed the Autolite 64 plug out with a new one and it is back like new. I bought the 2 year warranty so I was kinda wanting it to fail within 2 years if it was going to fail. The new Red one I bought is a little harder to start, but it works the same with the same fuel efficiency. I run mine at 40:1 for more lubrication with no plug fouling problem. I did have it die in the middle of the night once, pulled the plug and it was OK. Finally checked the spark arrestor and it was completely plugged. I removed it and it has run flawlessly ever since. The soot on the spark arrestor may have been caused by my 40:1 fuel-oil ratio being a little smokier.BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I read all of them, and there were common themes, personally I like 4-strokes less wear and tear and lifetime before rebuilds over all from experience.

But they are what they are and are better than nothing. Back in the day modified both my car and truck and had a 115/120 volt generator under the hood, with a manual throttle stop to set rpm that I added. No good way to adjust the fine voltage and cycles. But the tools I was using and the time I needed to use them made the mod work for me.

I am wary of any 2-cycle for so many reasons, but for short power supply and not any long term supply .. Go for it.

I find these small generators are great to throw on a trailer and use a cheap 110vac sawzall to trim volunteer trees that grow up in the fence lines. The sawzall is good for 4-5 inch trees.

Especially the Chinese sawall knockoffs Most of their tools are cheep because you mostly can only use them once or twice.

This is what I was thinking. Just use this gen to charge a battery bank, then run an inverter off the battery bank to power all the electronics. This gen only has a 120 volt outlet, so it may fry a battery charger though. My Honda gen has a separate 12 volt receptacle to charge a battery bank directly.

My Honda gen has a separate 12 volt receptacle to charge a battery bank directly.Because of my background, I have made several chargers/power supply's over the years. Mainly because a huge number of amateur radios and amps (rf) were going 12 volt(dc)/dual voltage (ac). Any power supply will charge a battery bank depending on voltage, with the addition of a limit circuit so the battery's will not be cooked/overcharged.

Hell the chargers I use today were not store bought, but made by myself, Cleaner and more regulated with dam near zero ripple. I have seen 1/2 wave systems that will do the job, but the best are full wave rectified, with heavy filters (caps) You really get what you pay for. True radio nutzoids understand, for powering electronics that is use for radio/receiving the less ripple is a blessing.

I would never buy a Chinese generator, at least not if I expected to get more than 5 hours run time on it before discarding it.

I still hold until I hear one working, would sound like an angry buzz saw...I do not trust anything for the long term slant eyed made, Jap I would, sorry to say, chineese dor dam sure not..

What they make is eye candy, and has no heart when it comes from second or third markets, even there first is shit stolen/bootlegged .

I still hold we will be at war, call me what ever but it will happen before I die,,,

And my time on this earth, is short...!

Was gonna say that a friend of mine bought a generator from harbor freight with the extended warranty. Used it doing construction and ran/ beat the hell out of it. When it died he got a brand new one no questions asked.

Harbor freight runs some pretty good coupons in the newspaper on sundays. Half off some items, 25% off any single item, some things free with coupon no purchase necessary. Last time I went by I picked up a couple multi-meters, a 7 piece screw driver set, and a few tape measures absolutely free.

Most of it is cheap crap, but depending what you need it can be a good deal.

I got an angle grinder from Horror Fright. It lasted less than 20 minutes before it burned itself up.

I got an angle grinder from Horror Fright. It lasted less than 20 minutes before it burned itself up. Seems like most of the tools are maybe good for one job, If lucky.

Bought a set of sockets, by the time I was finished with the breakdown, they were trash. Now carry ether my craftsmen or my very old sk set.

Seems like the old 'adage' is true, u get what you pay for.

And that apply s to life in general!
