Australia makes protesting illegal and fines protesters $600 and can gaol (jail) up to 2 years

R.I.P FREE SPEECH: Protesters can now be charged $750 or 2 years gaol for attending protests in Victoria
On Tuesday the Legislative Council of Victoria passed the Summary Offence Act 2013 (http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/vic/bill/soasab2013395/), which outlaws the right to protest in Victoria, by a vote of 20-18.
From September onwards the police in Victoria will have the power to ‘move on’ groups of people at their will, including those involved in peaceful protests and pickets. Those who refuse to comply with these orders can be issued with fines of $750, exclusion orders, and jail gaol terms of up to 2 years.
Though clearly aimed at disrupting the Tunnel Picket campaign against the East West Link, in future this law has the potential to be used against anyone – including trade unions and community groups.
Even die-hard conservatives question whether the new laws are too heavy handed. Tim Wilson, former head of the IPA and current Human Rights commissioner told The Age he though the laws were ”excessive” (http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/moveon-bill-likely-to-become-law-20140308-34ed5.html#ixzz2vep8jtWt).
”It unnecessarily gives police too much power to move on protesters unjustifiably,” he said. ”I have an issue with the low bar that is being set to give police the powers to move people on.”

Sad to see "down" under follow the axis of evil into a "Orwellian" state. But rest assured the rest of the world will catch up in time.

The price of freedom = slavery. In so many ways these days is measured by degrees. Mithinks there are really no real places on this planet that one can be completely free. Unless you live out in the middle of the high seas in international waters and are fully prepared to defend yourself. On any land you will have to live under someones "Rules!".
Edit: The ones that can say they are free in the states are ether incredibly wealthy so they can afford to ignore or are deluding themselves, that they can not end up behind bars because they live under the secret that they never say in a practical way for others to follow. Without the unwashed being attacked because they asked.

When you take away the right and freedom to protest peacefully, you force a deadly alternative.

Australia is a country with an extremely stupified population. the people here have zero idea and 100% resistance to anything that is not government idolising. the people here are completely lost to the freedom thought movement.
This legislation is actually aimed at moving on protestors outside of an abortion clinic. Hopefully there would be some that call for a judicial review but I doubt it.
Victorian, western Australian and Queensland police were given immunity for prosecution for ANY deaths they cause unlawful or not. The above noted Legislation is the Summary Offences Act. These are the offences where you never get a trial opportunity. I expect the rate at which the police murder the population in the course of their business to increase dramatically.
This all came about because the police were getting convicted of unlawfully killing people and that had to stop.

Other than that dam gun law you blokes have , I can see how you got to where you are at. The thing is If enough of you get pissed, to put a stop to it, you all have a better chance then those in the states in so many ways.
But it does depend on becoming independent fully from the empire. Total disconnedt from the links, which sucks, but in reallity what is the "queen"?
There is a "Physical" (sp) then there is the mental, bet most of the people go nuts, when the queen makes a visit or any of the royal house.

The Queen has almost zero influence in Australias affairs these days. Heck even the Privy Council is no longer the highest court in the land.
Even if we were to become a republic our sycophant politicians will always bow down to the Anglo-American alliance and side with then, whatever their position.
It constanly amazes me how they side with the UK/US without any sort of discussion, justification or forerthought. It adds credence to the notion that our leaders are nothing of the sort but lackeys to the mighty JWO, controlled through the City of London and DC. Any way, to me this stuff is FACT, see what Christopher Boyce has to say...

That really amazes me with the ratio here at forum and the whole "outback" attitude that is portrayed... gives the impression of rogue survivalist types over there.
I guess much of the population is compressed in and around the cities?
Or do you think its because you're isolated out there, and surrounded by a million Asians?
Do they still allow beatings in public schools? :)

It amazes me but I've lived the experience since childhood. People here that think like us are few and far. That is not to say there are no people here who think like us but they are hard to find. There are some movements but there is also a lot of astro turfing and movement undermining etc. There is a group of people who communicate through the clrg.info web site but again it's infrequent and uncoordinated.
there are a going number of people going the sovereign freeman route. More people taking up the cestui que trust route. I actually across a new guy who is actually fighting the Govt right now on this basis. He has a court hearing coming up. I was going to post his YT's. He's been on the Current Affairs shows here. Not sure how that went but I'm sure he was made out crazy.
98% of the population lives in cities. There are the 7 main capitals and then several regional cities in each state. People here are very compliant and highly traumatized/indoctrinated into believing in the sanctity of government. I like the land but I find most of the people are dicks.

Ha, sounds like you might need a change of scenery. From the guys I know from there (only about two or three) I get along real well with in a business sense. Always innovative yet relaxed about the details and straight forward thru issues, competent at anything.
To me these types are hard to find where I'm at, here or on this side most everyone either pastes over difficult issues like its not a problem, or the other types that's all they have is problems and are continuously stressed.
Maybe what it is, is that they just aren't political people?
I think there are two ways a non-political society can go, either well or repressed.

yes I do. I'm jaded. I really want to get out of the city. I'm working on it but I am unsure about how I would make it outside of a city. I have zero resources that would be useful other than labour or hard yakka as they call it here.
Don't get me wrong Aussies are tough, can do people, but the people I deal day to day with are not those types for the most part.

When they start the war, the last thing I want to use is a gun.
Walk softly and humbly.
Stealth of foot and stealth of mind.
Speak gently and act violently.
Leave no trace leave no crime.
Be a friend to all but deposit no trust.
Freedom they seek but only to kill.
To defend and fight, respond you must.
Make them pay for their perverse thrill.
Innocent and freinds are dear things so watch it!
Be careful to know how to bury the hatchet.
Hard days have come and we tremble before them.
But woe to those who dare us condemn.

Who in the hell knows, but I do think it is ether legal, or what?..Look at his last posts of the last month he was active. His viewpoints sell well on the net, not so much in real life.
Hell he maybe on the streets, using newspaper to keep warm..
He will be back, someway and or some how.
