You know ... someone might consider turning these guys into the IRS. Gifts of this nature are quite expensive when it comes to paying taxes on them. And the finder fees make becoming an informant lucrative.

There's only an entry in the online database when the ownership of the house has been transferred, which has nothing to do with a mortgage being paid off.
It looks like the database was initiated with all sales prices of zero. The 12/25 date was probably used because it is the least likely date for a transfer to ever happen, so that the date can be readily identified as a placeholder.
It looks like non-zero numbers appear for some actual transfers of ownership:
Ownership History
Owner Name
Book/Page
Sale Date

WINKLER DARREN & KARLEE

520,000
BROWN BETH J & SCOTT L
0785/1275
9/16/2003
509,900
What type of government payoff would this record indicate:

What is the relationship of the 'Sale Price' to the mortgage? If I buy a house for $250,000 and I make a down payment of $75,000, I would have to take on a mortgage of $175,000. How does this guy come to the conclusion that everybody in Newtown Connecticut had their mortgages paid off? Also, 2009 was 2 years ahead of the school shooting. Did the conspirators pay everybody off 2 years in advance to insure their silence? Surely, of all those people getting paid off, there would be some who would have talked about it.
It does seem worthy of further investigation that on 12/25/2009 there were entries for a lot of houses recording a sale price of 0. Does that mean a sale took place? When a mortgage is paid off, it is not recorded as a sale. Also, if somebody paid off all the mortgages, the IRS would not care at all. The IRS would care when the house is sold, and the seller has to calculate a gain on the sale. If the owner is on record as having bought the house for zero, the amount of the gain would be whatever price the house sold at. The sale price and the mortgage are two different things. I'm not going to get too excited about this fellow's claim until I get more information about what the 'sale price' actually means.
Personally, I think this is the work of a disinformation operation that wants to demonstrate how crazy conspiracy theorists are. If this guy is so inept at constructing 'reality', wouldn't all the other Sandy Hook deniers have just as little credibility?

This one just looks like a bounce back and forth between husband and wife. Could be a tax arrangement or something. Different tax rates for primary residence and rental property perhaps?
The date could be a starting point or place holder as you suggest. Data transfer into a new recording system or something?

Yes, exactly.
