More than 100 people found in suspected stash house in SE Houston

More than 100 people were found Wednesday morning inside a house at 14711 Almeda School Road in Southeast Houston, Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Police found the group, who are all presumed to be in the country illegally -- at a squalid "stash house" in southeast Houston. Police say it appears to be human smuggling operation.

The one-story house with several bedrooms is a typical stash house with filthy conditions and windows boarded over with plywood, Cannon said. There is one bathroom with a partially working toilet and people everywhere. About 500 chickens were found in cages at the house.

This appears to be evidence that it was a poultry operation. Five birds per person?

Or 1 person per 5 birds.

Thank goodness they've been rescued...now they can start receiving their free US benefits.

5 chickens per person is a weeks food. Nothing significant there. I'm glad it wasn't my rent house.
