“We the People,” the White House’s online petition website that claims it is “giving all Americans a way to engage their government on the issues that matter to them,” is currently hosting a petition for Alaska to leave the United States and join Russia.

http://www.thedailysheeple.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/russiaakbgx.jpg

The petition, written by S. V. of Anchorage, simply reads:

Groups Siberian Russians crossed the Isthmus (now the Bering Strait) 16-10 thousand years ago.

Russian began to settle on the Arctic coast, Aleuts inhabited the Aleutian Archipelago.

First visited Alaska August 21, 1732, members of the team boat “St. Gabriel »under the surveyor Gvozdev and assistant navigator I. Fedorov during the expedition Shestakov and DI Pavlutski 1729-1735 years.

Vote for secession of Alaska from the United States and joining Russia.

The more than 100,000 people who signed a petition for Texas to secede over a year ago — the threshold that forces the White House to respond on its petition website — were basically told no. A White House official claimed that the reason was because our founding fathers established the United States as a “perpetual union” — and the White House has of course overwhelmingly proven how much they respect and care about what the founding fathers thought about how the country should be run, so…

The Alaska petition was just created yesterday. At the time of writing this, 6,198 people have already signed it, which is 15 more people than when I decided to put this up here about ten minutes ago.

And Sara Palin can "see" Russia, from her house.

Alaska is the second state to start a petition to secede from the Union. Texas being the first, I wonder if the federal government is getting the idea yet that the states are getting fed up with it?

Would love to see it happen, but also can see major pains if it could be done. Interesting times we are living in these days, for dam sure this is not the same country compared to the one that existed when I was a kid. For most the bubble burst because of nixon, and the Watergate crap. Some woke up to the fact then that the gov will lie to you because of those shenanigans. And things have gone down hill ever since.

Definitely agree there. I do not recognize this country from my childhood. It resembles the old soviet union more so than the United States of America of my youth. Complete with gulags and police who will kill you at the drop of a hat.

People can join whatever political society they choose to. Whether they can take their territory with them is entirely another matter.

As to the current state of affairs in the U.S. ... this comes about because there is no 'public' anymore. Public went bankrupt in the '30s and hasn't chosen to recover yet. Instead they have no public officers who have no public oath and no public bond. The U.S. has operated the past 80 years on public policy instead of public law. You have no access to law in any court because the money is not lawful. What passes for money is a tender. An offer.

People choosing Russia as a preferred country is not rational. The U.S. has problems and rather than fix them people would choose to move away? Face the problems and fix them. This may require blood.

The requirement would be the same if the People did decide to face the problem and not move away. Those in power (even if it's imaginary) will not give it up without spilling yours or my blood to maintain that illusion.

I am actually get happy when i see a foreign superpower slap the POTUS around like a red headed stepchild and do so with ease and eloquence.

Never thought i would see myself framing things that way.

Never thought i would see myself framing things that way. Methinks most of us do not twisted, this country has changed for the good, but mostly for the bad in a huge way. How many vote today, most do not, so the very few, that do elect some pure ass wipes into positions of power at all levels. And have allowed company's to be "people". I love this country and hate to see it become what it has become. And the really sad fact is we did it to our self's, draw gun and shoot foot!

These aren't state sponsored petitions, anyone can start one. I doubt very much the state governments would even begin to think about seceding.

Correct about not being state sponsored. I should of said the PEOPLE of Alaska, as we know state governments no more represent the people anymore than the Federal government.

The Russian ethnicity in Ukraine didn't think of seceding either until their government got booted. Then they couldn't think about living without 'mother Russia' .... buncha milksops crying for mommy.

I notice you refrain from suggesting that their blood will be spilled. That is going to be the determining factor. Anybody is going to be willing to fight a war as long as they get to survive (and prosper).

There will be spilling on both sides. Just stating the obvious is all, that they will not give it up without spilling peoples blood to maintain their illusionary power.

I think the petition may have been started by someone who is Russian, considering the grammar. But it has more than 18,000 signatures now... Only 82,000 to go, before White House have to respond...

They smacked a no fly zone on Texas when they mentioned it. In other words sure you can secede but we will bomb the living freedom into you while your military sits on the ground.
